author:China Traffic Radio

According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, from January 31 to February 5, there will be a wide range of continuous rain, snow and freezing weather in the central and eastern parts of the mainland, and blizzard or heavy snowfall will occur in 10 provinces, and the cumulative snowfall in Henan, Shandong, Hubei and other places is extreme, and it is expected that the rain and snow will last for the longest time since this winter, and the impact will be the widest.

Since the rain and snow impact period coincides with the peak period of the Spring Festival travel homecoming, and the areas affected by the rain and snow are located in the central transportation hub provinces of the mainland, it is very unfavorable to traffic travel.

Blizzard and freezing rain are coming! The central and eastern regions will welcome the heaviest rain and snow this winter

Rain and snow coverage is wide: the rain and snow process basically covers the entire central and eastern regions, Huanghuai and its northern areas are dominated by snowfall, Jianghan, western Jianghuai and western Hunan, eastern Guizhou and other places have rain to sleet or snow; eastern and southern Shaanxi, southern Shanxi, southern Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Hubei, northwest Hunan, eastern Guizhou, eastern Liaoning, eastern Jilin and other places have blizzard, local heavy snowfall or heavy snowfall, the cumulative snowfall is 10~20 mm, local more than 30 mm. There was moderate to heavy rain in most areas of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and south of the Yangtze River, with heavy rain in some areas, and it was accompanied by a wide range of thunder and lightning from the 1st to the 4th.

Long duration: Rain and snow in the central and eastern regions began on January 31 and lasted for 6 days until February 5. After the 6th, there was still weak rain and snow in the eastern part of southwest China, southern Jiangnan, and southern China, and the weather in the northern part of Jiangnan and most of the areas north of it became clear.

Freezing rain is widespread: From February 1 to 4, there was freezing rain in parts of southern Henan, Hubei, northern Anhui, central and northern Hunan, and eastern Guizhou.

On the whole, the rain and snow weather process in the central and eastern regions of the current round lasted the longest since this winter, and the provinces with the most freezing rain, and the cumulative snowfall in Henan, Shandong, and Hubei was close to or exceeded the same period in history, which was extreme. However, the duration, low temperature intensity, and freezing range were not as good as those of the low temperature rain and snow freezing process in southern China in early 2008. The extent and intensity of snowfall in the south of the Yangtze River were also weaker than those in the process from January 21 to 22, and rainfall was dominant.

Today and tomorrow

The precipitation in southern China increased and intensified

Yesterday, precipitation in the south gradually began to increase again, and monitoring showed that light rain occurred in central and eastern Yunnan, southern Guizhou, southern Hunan, central Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, etc., moderate to heavy rain in Honghe, Guangxi, Guilin, and Liuzhou in Guangxi, and freezing rain or sleet (1~3 mm) occurred locally in western Guizhou.

Today and tomorrow, most of the south will be plagued by rain. Specifically, the Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that today, there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of northeast Heilongjiang, the Ili River Valley in Xinjiang and the western mountainous areas of southern Xinjiang, and northern and eastern Tibet, among them, there will be heavy snow (5~9 mm) in the Ili River Valley in Xinjiang. There is light to moderate rain in most parts of Jiangnan, southeast Guizhou, South China, Taiwan Island and other places, among them, there is heavy rain (25~40 mm) in eastern Jiangxi and northeast Guangxi.

There is light to moderate rain in some areas of Jianghuai, most of Jianghan, Jiangnan, central and eastern Chongqing, central and eastern Guizhou, and central and northern South China, and local heavy rain (25~30 mm).

From the 31st, most of the central and eastern parts of the country will face a sharp cooling

Temperatures turned to low levels

Today and tomorrow, the cold air force is still weak, the scope of influence is northerly, and the temperature in Inner Mongolia, Northeast China and other places will fluctuate. However, looking at most parts of the country, the temperature is still higher than that of the same period in normal years, and the maximum temperature of 10 °C will advance northward to the Huanghuai area. Especially from Guizhou to the central and southern parts of the Yangtze River, South China and other places, the temperature in the above areas continues to rise, and the cumulative increase is large, and it is expected that the recent temperature will reach a high point around February 1, and the maximum temperature in many places will rise to 20 °C, or even more than 25 °C. For example, in Guiyang, the maximum temperature yesterday was only about 3.7°C, and it will rise to 20°C on February 1.

However, a strong cold air is about to exert force. It is expected that from January 31 to February 2, under the influence of cold air, the temperature in most parts of the central and eastern regions will drop by 4~8 °C, of which the temperature in eastern and northeast Inner Mongolia will drop by 10~14 °C. After the cooling, the temperature in many places from Northeast China to Jiangnan will turn to a low level, the maximum temperature in the eastern part of Northwest China, North China, Huanghuai and other places will drop below freezing, and the maximum temperature in central and eastern Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and other places will drop below minus 15 °C.

From the perspective of the maximum temperature drop, in Northeast China, North China, Huanghuai, and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the cumulative temperature drop from the end of January to the beginning of February can reach more than 10 °C. For example, Zhengzhou, where the highest temperature was around 12.4°C yesterday and will drop to -2°C on February 1, while Hangzhou's maximum temperature on the 30th is 16°C, and on February 2, it will be only 7°C.

It is the peak of the Spring Festival

Pay attention to the warmth when traveling Pay attention to the weather in time

Affected by the cold air, most of the central and eastern regions have cooled significantly, and it is the peak season of returning home for the Spring Festival, and the areas seriously affected by rain and snow are located in the transportation hub in the central part of the mainland.
