Toyota GR Yaris won six races in the 2023 WRC event, one by WRC driver Sebastien Ogier and the other by Kalle Rovanpera. To celebrate their achievement, Toyota recently unveiled two special editions, the GR YARiS Sebastien Ogier and the Kalle Rovanpera Special Editions.
Limited to 200 units, the new cars not only inherit the excellent performance and handling of the Toyota GR YARiS, but also incorporate the personal driving styles and preferences of both drivers. From the exterior to the interior, from the details to the general design, you can see the unique understanding and individual requirements of the two drivers for the vehicle.
On the outside, both cars have a very unique and artistic livery, with different styles of exterior packages and racing liveries added to the GR YARiS.
The Ogier version has an overall grey livery with a blacked-out front face and three colours of the French flag underneath the bonnet.
The Rovanpera Edition is painted in the same colour scheme as the driver's suit, with a richer and brighter colour. It is worth noting that the two cars have special "GR" and "WRC" logos on the door panels and front fenders respectively, which further underline the special identity and outstanding performance of the new models.
On the side of the body, the two models are not much different from the regular GR YARiS, but with added details and embellishments. On the door panels and front fenders, you can see the special identification of Toyota's "GR" division and WRC, respectively.
In terms of wheels, both models are equipped with 18-inch BBS multi-spoke wheels, which not only enhance the visual effect, but also improve the car's handling and driving stability. The color of the brake calipers also echoes the bodywork, further enhancing the overall aesthetic.
At the rear, in addition to the differences in the body paint and rear nameplate logo, the rear spoiler of the two models is also recognizable. The Rovanpera version gets a gooseneck shape with a more racing character, while the Ogier version gets a carbon fibre spoiler with a simpler shape.
Inside, the GR YARiS sets different driving modes for both models, allowing users to experience the driving preferences of both racers. The design of the central control screen inclined to the driver's side fully takes into account the driver's operation convenience and driving safety.
At the same time, the 12.3-inch full LCD instrument in front of the steering wheel provides a wealth of driving information and vehicle status display, so that the driver can have a more comprehensive grasp of the vehicle condition.
In terms of power, it has not yet been determined whether the special edition model will be upgraded in terms of power. Referring to the regular version of the model, the GR YARiS is equipped with a 1.6T three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 304 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. In terms of drivetrain, the car is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Once the new car is launched, users will be eligible to purchase the car through a lottery, and they will also receive benefits related to driver interaction and WRC events.
