So far, 2 of the 5 main bids of the Sutai Expressway project have successfully completed the construction of the main project, which has injected strong impetus into the realization of the 2024 construction task of the Sutai Expressway.

The ST-QL4 standard of Sutai Expressway (railway-related section) is a cross-through project constructed simultaneously with the Shanghai-Suzhou-Lake railway section under construction, which is jointly constructed by China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway 15th Bureau Group Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd. The construction process of Sutai Expressway ST-QL4 standard
On October 31, 2022, the construction of bored piles was completed;
On March 26, 2023, the pier stud construction was completed;
On April 8, 2023, the construction of the cover beam will be completed;
On October 25, 2023, the construction of box girder erection will be completed;
On January 23, 2024, the bridge deck construction will be completed.

Project Brief Introduction
Sutai Expressway Qidu to Taoyuan section of the project is a fast inter-provincial passage connecting Jiangsu and Zhejiang, the route starts from Qidu Town, connects the S230 Ring Taihu Highway that has been built, crosses the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway to the south and then routes between Badu Community and Zhenze Town, crosses the G318 Hunie Line and Changhu Shen Line (planning III waterway), crosses the Shanghai-Suhu High-speed Railway Bridge under construction to the south on the west side of Taoyuan Town, ends at the border of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and ends at the Nanxun to Tongxiang section of the Sutai Expressway under construction in Zhejiang, with a total length of 18.221 kilometers.
Project significance
After the completion of the project, it will form a ring line of the Taihu Lake Expressway together with S9 Sushao Expressway, G25 Changshen Expressway, S48 Shanghai-Yi Expressway, S58 Suzhou-Xichang Southern Passage, and G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, which is of great significance to further improve the layout of the regional expressway network, strengthen the intercity transportation links between Jiangsu and Zhejiang, enhance the overall efficiency of the road network, promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, improve the transportation conditions in the western region of Suzhou, serve the development of tourism resources along the route, and promote regional economic and social development.
