The Year of the Dragon is a very important year in traditional Chinese culture, full of mystery and legend. In Chinese culture, the dragon symbolizes bravery, strength, and independence. In ancient China, because people revered nature and worshiped divine power, they created a dragon as a divine beast that could call wind and rain. Dragons come in different forms, and there are many variants, such as the Green Dragon, Ying Dragon, Qiu Dragon, and the Dragon. In the Book of Rites, the dragon is called the four spirits together with the unicorn, the dragon turtle and the phoenix, and in the imperial power, the dragon is the symbol of the imperial power. The legend that the Yellow Emperor ascended to heaven by the dragon and that the dragon helped the Yellow Emperor defeat Chiyou; when Xia Yu controlled the water, the dragon used its tail to draw the ground into a river channel to channel the flood; Liu Bang, the ancestor of the Han Dynasty, is said to have been born by his mother dreaming of mating with the red dragon. All of this reflects the concentration of virtue on the dragon, which is considered to be valiant and warlike, intelligent and wise.
There are various theories about the origin of the legend of the dragon. There is also a theory that the Busan Hefu originated from the Yellow Emperor, and the Yellow Emperor, after defeating the Yan Emperor and Chiyou, toured the Quartet and "fit Busan". This "conjunction" not only unified the symbols of the military orders of the various ministries and established a political alliance, but also took some elements from the original totems of each tribe and combined them to create a new animal image - dragon. Another theory is that the most basic feature of the image of the dragon is "nine likes", and the specific nine animals are still controversial, but the legend is that it can be visible and hidden, can be small and huge, and can be short and long. The spring equinox ascends to the sky, the autumn equinox dives into the abyss, and these images of dragons, which have been developed in the late period, are more complex than the original dragons. In feudal times, the dragon was a symbol of imperial power, and the utensils used in the imperial palace were also decorated with dragons.
The word "Fu" is a long-standing custom of Chinese folk during the Spring Festival. The word "Fu" refers to good fortune and good fortune, which entrusts people's yearning for a happy life and wishes for a better future. In order to more fully embody this yearning and wishes, some people simply paste the word "Fu" upside down, indicating that "happiness has arrived" and "blessing has arrived". Folk also have the word "Fu" delicately depicted into a variety of patterns, the patterns have birthday star, longevity peach, carp jumping dragon gate, grain harvest, dragon and phoenix Chengxiang and so on.
Today we will combine the dragon and the blessing, and we will look at the styling characteristics of the dragon together, the dragon head is large, triangular or oblong, usually with horns or fleshy horns, sharp and long teeth, bulging eyes, and sharp gaze. Carefully observe the shape and structure of the Fu character, feel the thickness, straightness, and smoothness of the lines, and how to use color, light and shade and other techniques to express the beauty and meaning of the Fu character.
Authoring steps
1. Draw the shape of the dragon on colored cardboard, and cut out the shape of the dragon's mouth and eyes.
2. Combine and paste the shapes of each part of the cut dragon, and draw the dragon's expression and details.
3. Draw the dragon's horns, whiskers, etc. on cardboard and cut them out and paste them on the dragon's head.
4. Paste the prepared red cardboard with the dragon.
5. Draw different Fu characters on the red cardboard, and finally hang the tassel on the Fu character and our work is complete.
