First, let's take a look at what Shift does for Windows
1. Select files and folders
When we select a file, we click with the mouse to select the one we clicked. But what if we want to select multiple consecutive files at once?
You can choose by dragging the mouse, but in this way, it's okay to select a few, what if it's more?
This is where the Shift key comes in. Select one first, then hold down the Shift key and select the last one to select them all.
2. Delete files and folders
When deleting a file, if you just press the delete key alone, then you just put the file in the recycle bin, and it is not completely deleted. To delete files completely, you can hold down the Shift key and then press Delete.
3. Open a new instance on the taskbar.
When we open an app, an icon appears on the taskbar, and when we click on the icon, we switch to the app.
If you want to start the same program again, you can right-click on the software icon and click on the software again, but this will take one more step.
A quicker way to do this is to hold down the Shift key and then tap on the icon to open a new app.
For example, the WPS shown in the picture below is to open one. If you click directly on the taskbar, you will be switched to this window. If you want to open another WPS, you can first hold down Shift and then press this icon.
4. Shift+F10, which is the function of right-clicking the mouse, can be used when there is no mouse on the computer.
5. Enter advanced boot mode
On the password entry screen, do not log in; there is a power restart option. Hold down Shift before hitting the restart button to access advanced options.
After entering the advanced options, you can enter the safe mode of the computer, or reset the computer, etc.
Let's take a look at what Shift can do when typing text
1. Upper gear key function
On the keyboard we can see that there are a lot of keys with two symbols on them. For example, the number keys in the main keyboard area and some punctuation keys. When you need to output the upper part of these keys, you can hold down the Shift key and press the corresponding key.

If you hold down the Shift key and then press the letter key, you can directly output uppercase letters.
2. Now most of the input methods, you can switch between Chinese and English mode by pressing the Shift key on the right
3. About some shortcuts of the Shift key in input
Toggle different input methods: default Windows logo key + space bar
Switch between Chinese and English mode: Ctrl+Space by default or press Shift on the right
Toggle full-width half-width: Default Shift+Space

Finally, let's take a look at the role of the Shift keyboard when working with documents
1. Select a certain range, and the use method is similar to that of selecting files. That is, you can select a part of the designation.
This option can be applied to almost all document forms.
2. Lock the ratio
When inserting a shape, hold down the Shift key to insert a square, or circle. The same goes for other shapes.
To modify an image that has already been inserted, hold down the Shift key and drag, or you can lock the proportional zoom.
3. Alignment function
That is, when moving a picture or graphic, it will move in a straight line for easy alignment.
