Moreover, this place is also the world's largest drug base, and the drugs manufactured and transported from here account for 70% of the world's drug traffic, and behind the drug trade are drug trafficking armies that eat people and do not spit out bones.

However, there is such a person, who has built up a large personal armed force by relying on drug trafficking, and has also established an armed separatist regime on this basis to fight against the government.

This person is Kun Sha, the "drug king" of the Golden Triangle.

So, what is Kunsha's ability, how did he almost unify the Golden Triangle, and how did he become the "president"?

Born in 1933 in Shan State, Myanmar, his Chinese name is Zhang Qifu, according to his own account, the family was originally Chinese, and only migrated to Burma during his seventh ancestor's generation, and his biological father was a hereditary Tusi of the local tribe.

When Khun Sa was born, the northern plateau of Myanmar was already covered with poppies, and the local tribal armed forces used the drugs extracted from the poppies to sell them in order to obtain military expenses, and then used the money from drug trafficking to expand equipment and protect the drug trade.

In order to protect the young Kun Sha, Kun Sha's relatives sent him out of the Golden Triangle to study in other places.

After the victory of the Liberation War on the mainland, a large number of remnants of the Kuomintang in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places retreated into Burma and other places.

Although they were vulnerable to the powerful People's Liberation Army, the remnants of the Kuomintang still had an overwhelming advantage in the face of local tribal forces, and began to use the power in their hands to make a lot of money.

Drugs naturally became an important tool for them to accumulate wealth, and Kun Sha, who was only a teenager at this time, was mixed in the remnants of the Kuomintang army, watching the manufacture and transportation of drugs every day, which made his interest in drugs and guns far exceed the knowledge in textbooks.

Therefore, what he learned most in these years was not the knowledge in textbooks, but how to fight wars, how to manufacture and transport drugs.

In 1954, at the age of 21, Khun Sa returned to Shan State to take charge of the village in Lane Mo Hill, Shan State, and inherited the hereditary position of Tusi of the Lemo tribe, thus beginning his controversial life.

Don't look at Kun Sha at that time was a young man in his early twenties, but after more than ten years of hardships outside, Kun Sha, who was accustomed to seeing blood and blood, had already forged a calm heart and ruthless means that surpassed his peers, which was confirmed as early as when he was 16 years old.

That year, Kun Sha escorted drugs for the Kuomintang, but was robbed by his peers on the way, and the witty Kun Sha did not choose to fight hard, but immediately surrendered and saved his life.

Subsequently, Kun Sha wrote a letter to tell the other party that he wanted to defect to him, and warmly invited the other party's family to his home as a guest, and the other party thought that Kun Sha was just a 16-year-old hairy guy, what kind of intrigue could he have, so he happily went.

However, just when the two sides pushed the cups and changed the lamps, and the atmosphere of the banquet was very cheerful, Kun Sha suddenly pulled out his pistol and shot at the other party, the other party was unprepared, and the whole family died at gunpoint.

Since then, Kun Sha has become famous and won the title of "Iron Butcher".

After inheriting the position of Tusi, Khun Sa immediately recruited troops and established his own drug trafficking army, which coincided with the military coup in Burma and General Ne Win came to power.

The keen Kun Sha immediately swore allegiance to the government, and got himself an official who was the commander-in-chief of the "Bright Regional National Self-Defense Force", and with this justifiable identity as a cover, Kun Sha's drug business soon became popular, and the limelight approached Luo Xinghan, the biggest drug lord at that time, "Opium General".

One mountain does not tolerate two tigers, and the conflict between Kun Sha and Luo Xinghan is becoming more and more acute, to the point of never dying.

So, how will Kunsha respond to this challenge?

With the help of the cloak of legal identity, Kunsha's drug business is getting bigger and bigger, and the contradictions with Luo Xinghan are becoming more and more acute.

In 1962, Khun Sa was appointed by the Ne Win government of Myanmar as the commander-in-chief of the "Bright Regional National Self-Defense Force", and with the cover of this identity, Khun Sha's drug business became bigger and bigger, seriously challenging the interests of Luo Xinghan, the first drug lord in the Golden Triangle at the time.

In order to compete for the market of the drug trade, the contradictions between Kun Sha and Luo Xinghan became more and more acute, to the point that water and fire were incompatible.

So, what was the final outcome of the battle between the two of them, and how did Kunsha's drug kingdom come about?

Speaking of Luo Xinghan, a big drug lord, he started much earlier than Kunsha, as early as the thirties of the last century, Luo Xinghan has established a drug trafficking arm, entrenched in the Golden Triangle region for a long time, and gradually became the largest local drug lord.

After receiving the legal cloak granted by the government, the drug business flourished, and the drug trafficking force under his command also grew to more than 2,700 people, and for a time it was in the limelight in the Golden Triangle region.

Kunsha's sudden rise continued to encroach on Luo Xinghan's territory, and the friction between the two became more and more intense, to the point of fighting each other.

Kun Sha originally wanted to face Luo Xinghan head-on, but there was a big gap in the strength of the drug trafficking forces between the two sides, and the frontal toughness was tantamount to hitting a stone with an egg. At this time, Kunsha's right-hand man Zhang Suquan offered a clever plan.

Speaking of Zhang Suquan, it is definitely the existence of more than 10,000 people under one person in the Kunsha Group, and it is also the key to Kunsha's domination of the Golden Triangle in the future.

Zhang Suquan was originally a lieutenant colonel of the Kuomintang, but came to the mainland in 1948, and then followed the remnants of the defeated Kuomintang army into the jungles of northern Burma, and became acquainted with Kun Sha around 1963.

Because Zhang Suquan's military quality is considered a ceiling in the tribal armed forces, Kun Sha immediately took Zhang Suquan as his confidant and appointed him as his chief of staff, and the large and small military affairs of the drug trafficking armed forces passed through his hands.

In the face of the conflict with the Luo Xinghan group, Zhang Suquan proposed a clever plan, saying that he had obtained information that Luo Xinghan's troops would transport a batch of up to 15 tons of drugs to the border, and we could try to ambush and snatch the drugs, which would not lose too much and seriously hurt the Luo Xinghan group.

Kun Sha immediately agreed to Zhang Suquan's proposal and set up an ambush under the path of Luo Xinghan's troops, but the other party was caught off guard and could only leave 15 tons of drugs and flee in a hurry, and Kun Sha took the drugs for himself.

After this battle, Luo Xinghan Group was hit hard and was dying, and it was no longer Kunsha's opponent, and Kunsha officially began his journey to dominate the Golden Triangle.

Khun Sha cultivated opium poppies and established military bases in areas under his control, and at the same time built a drug refinery, purified opium, which used to be cheap, into heroin, which more than tripled in price, and invented the infamous "Two Lions on Earth" brand heroin.

These drugs amassed a huge amount of wealth for Kunsha, and Kunsha used the funds to recruit troops and horses, annex territory, control drug transportation arteries, and occupy 80% of the drug trade in the Golden Triangle, becoming the "Golden Triangle Drug King".

However, Khun Shah's wanton expansion quickly alarmed the Burmese government, which could not tolerate Khun Shah's wanton behavior, let alone sit idly by and watch its people suffer from drugs.

So, in October 1969, the Burmese government called Khun Sa on the pretext of discussing the ethnic issue in northern Burma, saying that it would send a special plane to take Khun Sa to Lashio.

However, when the plane landed in Lashio, the Burmese government immediately seized Khun Sha and ordered the government troops who had already laid the ambush to attack the base area of Khun Sha.

For a while, the leaderless Kunsha drug trafficking forces were in a panic, not knowing where to go in the future, at this time, Zhang Suquan stood up again and proposed a way to break the situation.

Zhang Suquan believes that the current top priority is to save Kun Sha's life, stay in the green mountains, not afraid of no firewood, as long as Kun Sha does not die, there will be a chance to make a comeback.

Therefore, he took advantage of the complex ethnic contradictions in the Shan state, declared Khun Sa to be the leader of the national independence movement, and built Khun Sa's armed forces into the "Shan State Revolutionary Army", claiming that Khun Sa was imprisoned by the government for supporting the national movement.

In this way, not only did it attract a large number of tribal forces to defect and restore Khun Shah's armed forces, but this kind of rhetoric also put the Burmese government under unprecedented pressure of public opinion, and was forced to slow down Khun Sha's verdict.

After saving Kun Sha's life, Zhang Suquan began to plan how to rescue Kun Sha, and he decided to use the pressure of public opinion again, for which he kidnapped two Soviet doctors and used them to blackmail the Burmese government to release them.

Of course, the Burmese government was reluctant and continued to send troops to attack Khun Sha's troops, but this was exactly what Zhang Suquan was told, and while he was running around the mountains with Soviet doctors, he signaled his mouthpiece to create public opinion, claiming that the Burmese government did not care about the life or death of the hostages, and did not speak humane at all.

Under international pressure from the Soviet Union and other countries, Myanmar had no choice but to agree to Zhang Suquan's conditions, release Khun Sha, and exchange two Soviet doctors for them.

However, Kun Sha, who had experienced a catastrophe of life and death, did not stop there, but intensified his efforts, became the leader of the revolutionary army, and even became the president.

So, after Kunsha returns to the Golden Triangle, what actions will he take, and what will be the outcome of this "drug king"?

Kunsha, who dominates the Golden Triangle and "builds a country with poison", how ruthless is he?

Far from bringing peace or easing the situation in the Golden Triangle, the Burmese government's actions have backfired, creating a serious problem for itself.

After returning to the Golden Triangle, Khun Sa was very supportive of Zhang Suquan's policy and decided to take advantage of the ethnic contradictions in northern Myanmar to hold high the banner of "national revolution" and shout the slogan of "Shan State should establish an independent state."

Under such a banner, many unknown local tribal forces have joined the command of Kun Sha to dedicate themselves to the so-called "revolutionary movement", and the drug trade has also become a move to "raise military funds" under the packaging of Kun Sha.

In this way, Kunsha's army expanded rapidly, reaching an establishment of 6 divisions, more than 10,000 men, and also had American-style equipment and surface-to-air missiles.

In 1985, Khun Sa announced the establishment of the "Shan State Revolutionary Government", and Khun Sa appointed himself as the commander-in-chief of the government's coalition army, and his power occupied the entire Golden Triangle and became a well-deserved "King of the Golden Triangle".

With a powerful armed force, the Golden Triangle became an independent kingdom of Khun Sa, and his power also stretched out its claws in all directions, crossing the Golden Triangle and touching Thailand and Laos.

The rapid development of military power made Khun Sa's ambitions swell sharply, and even the failure of the operation in Thailand and Laos did not bring him to his senses, and in 1993, despite Zhang Suquan's dissuasion, he openly proclaimed the establishment of the Shan State Republic and assumed himself president.

However, it was this move that laid the groundwork for the collapse of the Kunsha Group.

In the 90s of the last century, the situation in Indochina was eased, the Burmese government also began to implement a policy of national reconciliation, many armed forces in northern Myanmar began to lay down their arms and conduct peace negotiations with the government, and the Khun Sa group gradually became isolated and helpless.

In addition, because the so-called Shan State Republic established by Khun Sa was a "nation built on drugs" and engaged in the drug trade under the guise of revolution, which was deeply hated by people all over the world, the so-called "revolutionary action" of the Khun Sa clique did not receive any international support.

Moreover, the Kunsha Group is also moving towards disintegration.

In the early 90s, the Shan tribes launched the "Pure Shan State" movement, and the Khun Sa clique bore the brunt, because although Khun Sa was waving the banner of the Shan National Revolution, its clique leaders were all Han Chinese, and they also vigorously promoted Han culture in their sphere of influence.

Moreover, although Khun Sa claimed to be fighting for the independence of Shan State, his years of "revolution" had little effect, and the drug business became bigger and bigger, which made the local tribes of Shan State question the authenticity of the Khun Sa Revolution.

Under the offensive of the "Pure Shan State", the Khun Sa group began to disintegrate on a large scale, and more than 6,000 soldiers left the Khun Sa armed group, and the "prime minister" appointed by Khun Sa also announced that he would leave Khun Sa and no longer serve Khun Sa.

At the same time, the Burmese government also resents Khun Sa's blatant separatism and is determined to do everything in its power to eliminate the Khun Sa clique.

At the same time, with the support of the Burmese government, the Wa State armed forces, a hostile force in Shan State, have deployed tens of thousands of people on the border to prepare to attack the Golden Triangle, and the Burmese government has also mobilized three elite divisions, equipped with tanks, helicopters and other heavy firepower, and has the potential to level the Golden Triangle in one fell swoop.

In the face of internal and external difficulties, in order to save his life, Kun Sha asked the government for peace talks, saying that as long as his safety was guaranteed, he could surrender to the government and disband the armed forces under his name.

In January 1996, the Khun Sa clique formally surrendered to the Burmese government, surrendered all guns and ammunition, and returned all the areas under its control to the government.

In 2007, Khun Sa died in Yangon, ending his controversial life.

In any case, narcotics have plunged the mainland into a century of humiliation, and every Chinese person should deeply hate narcotics, and hope that the Burmese government will remove the remaining drugs from the Golden Triangle at an early date and restore peace and prosperity to the Burmese people.

Salute to all the heroes who are fighting in the anti-drug post!
