We know that in the Journey to the West, the status of Guanyin Bodhisattva can be said to be quite high, no matter any big guy, after seeing him, you have to give a little face, even if it is Zhenyuan Daxian, after seeing Guanyin Bodhisattva, you have to go out in a hurry to greet it, so the question is, why is his status in Journey to the West so high? We only need to look at its origin.
Origin 1: The son of the Wheel Saint King
Let me tell you, although the appearance of Guanyin Bodhisattva that we see now is basically a woman. However, in many Buddhist texts, Guanyin Bodhisattva is actually a male body. There is a theory that he was the son of the King of Reincarnation. Moreover, in the Buddhist scriptures, Guanyin Bodhisattva is recorded in this way.

See, this is a brave husband. Do you think he is a man or a woman? And what kind of status is this reincarnation king? You can understand that in Buddhism, this is a bigwig-level figure who really founded the earthly Buddha kingdom. Do you think the son of this kind of person can be an ordinary small character?
Origin 2: One of the Three Saints of the West
The Three Sages of the West are three people, namely Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva and Dashi Zhi Bodhisattva. These three people have a very high status in Buddhism, and this Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Great Trend Bodhisattva are two brothers in many Buddhist classics, whether it is the lotus incarnation or the son of the reincarnation king. Guanyin Bodhisattva and Dashi Zhi Bodhisattva are both brothers, and this relationship can be said to be very unusual. Of course, the status of the three saints of the West is definitely not the same.
Amitabha Buddha is in the center, Guanyin Bodhisattva and Dashi Zhi Buddha Bodhisattva are on the left and right, respectively. You can understand that the two of them are the right and left hands of Amitabha, or the attendants. Such an existence, do you say that it is not as bad as coming to the Buddha?
Origin 3: One of the twelve immortals of Kunlun
Of course, there is also a saying that Guanyin Bodhisattva has a very big relationship with Taoism, and we know that there are Kunlun 12 golden immortals in the list of gods. These 12 people, you can understand that they are the most proud disciples of Yuan Shi Tianzun. And among these 12 people, there is a person whose name is Cihangdao. Later, after being consecrated as a god, he went to Buddhism, which is the Guanyin Bodhisattva we are now familiar with.
Therefore, such a status can be said to be quite high, because there is also face in Taoism, even if he says that he voted for Western religion, or Buddhism, I believe that the relationship between master and apprentice is still there, and the other Jin Xian still has to give face after seeing him. When his master saw him, he wouldn't say anything, and he was directly expelled from the school.
No wonder it has a high status in Journey to the West
Based on the above three origins, we can basically say that in Journey to the West, as long as you learn from it casually, one of them must write the status of Guanyin Bodhisattva quite high, because any of the origins is at the top level. It can only be said that such a origin does not give face to the Buddha, and even says that it is okay not to give face to the Jade Emperor. Especially as a disciple of Yuan Shi Tianzun, this one is even better. By the way, let me tell you about Guanyin Bodhisattva, although he has appeared a lot in Journey to the West, he has never taken the initiative to kill anyone. It can only be said that it is worthy of the great compassion of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
