The Australian Open is coming to a final stage, with three semi-finals and a title match taking place today. Taiwan's Hsieh Shu-wei will be fighting for the mixed doubles title for the first time and will await the result of another Women's Doubles semi-final. The two men's singles semifinals are blockbuster duels on and off the court.
Novak Djokovic (1) vs Sinner (4)
Djokovic had a 4-0 win over Sinner, but two months ago, Sinner beat Djokovic twice in a week and made himself the favourite at the Australian Open. Sinner has been in excellent form over the past two weeks and he is the only player who has not conceded a set.
Djokovic has a perfect 20-0 record in the semifinals and finals of the Australian Open, and only Nadal has a 28-1 record in the semifinals and finals at Roland Garros. Overall, Djokovic's record in the Grand Slam semifinals is 36-11, and he has won his last 12 matches and 22 of his last 23 matches. The 24-time Grand Slam champion arrived in Melbourne with a wrist injury and lost to De Minaur in his first match in Australia since 2018. He didn't play well in the first two races, but as the game went on, he played his way as usual. Djokovic has lost three sets so far.

This is the toughest competition in the sport over the past few years. Medvedev leads 11-7 in head-to-head records and 9-7 on hard courts. But this semi-final was the first time they had met in a Grand Slam. A feud erupted between the two men in Monte Carlo last April, when Zverev dismissed Medvedev's toilet trip as a mere trick and called him "one of the most unfair players in the world" after losing the match.
On the way to the promotion, neither of them went well. Both men played 21 sets, including two five-set matches. Zverev also won two tiebreakers in earlier matches, but in the final round, he knocked out big favourite Alcaraz. Medvedev, on the other hand, played five sets for four hours with Hurkacz in the last round, and it seems that he is extremely uncomfortable with Melbourne's hot weather.
Shuwei Hsieh and Zielinski (3) VS Cruczyk and Skupski (2)
It was the first time Hsieh and Zielinski had reached the mixed doubles final, while Cruczyk had won four mixed doubles titles in the last few years, two of which came with Skupski.
Kichenok and Ostapenko (11) vs Dabrowski and Lautliffe (4)
Kichenok and Ostapenko have already lost two Grand Slam semifinals in 2022. Dabrowski and Routliffe are looking to win their second major in a row after winning their first major in New York. The winner will face the combination of Hsieh and Mortens in the final.
