After court trial, Yang XX and Mi XX were sentenced to death and 17 years imprisonment respectively for the crimes of rape and child molestation. The person in charge of the school, Bao Moumou and Yin Moumou, were both investigated for criminal responsibility for dereliction of duty, and the principal was held criminally responsible for failing to report the case.
