China and Singapore, visa exemption for each other!

China and Singapore, visa exemption for each other!

On 25 January, representatives of the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Singapore signed the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Reciprocal Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports in Beijing. The agreement will officially enter into force on February 9, 2024 (Chinese New Year's Eve). At that time, holders of ordinary passports of both sides can enter each other's countries without a visa to engage in private affairs such as tourism, family visits, and business, and stay for no more than 30 days. If you intend to stay in the other country for more than 30 days, you must obtain a visa before entering the other country.

So far, China has concluded visa exemption agreements with 157 countries covering different passport types, agreements or arrangements with 44 countries on visa simplification, and comprehensive visa exemption with 22 countries, including Singapore, Maldives and Kazakhstan. In addition, more than 60 countries and regions have granted visa-free or visa-on-arrival convenience to Chinese citizens. The facilitation of Chinese citizens' exit has been greatly improved, and the "gold content" of Chinese passports will become higher and higher.

Wu Xi, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, said in an exclusive interview with CCTV that China has recently introduced a series of measures to facilitate people-to-people exchanges, which fully demonstrates China's determination to promote high-level opening-up, and we welcome friends from all over the world to travel, do business, invest and study in China. It is hoped that Chinese and foreign friends will respect the laws and regulations of local countries and bilateral agreements, and jointly safeguard the order of people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries.
