O: My relationship with Shenzhen

I am a native of Hong Kong, and my ancestors have lived in Hong Kong for seven generations, and none of them have ever been to Shenzhen. I immigrated to New Zealand in the early 1990s and wanted to retire, but it backfired, I was busier in New Zealand than I was in Hong Kong – because I was the head of the club and wanted to help more newcomers.

I became acquainted with Shenzhen in June 1999, when I first came to Shenzhen.

The process was quite tortuous, I missed the opportunity due to illness on the first two occasions, and it was not until the third time that a good friend accompanied me to Guangzhou and passed through Shenzhen, and then I stayed for a short time. When I arrived, I realized that Shenzhen was completely different from what I heard in Hong Kong, it was not backward at all, there were many high-rise buildings, all kinds of modern facilities, and the food and shopping were no worse than Hong Kong.

We stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel that night, which has similar decoration and service as in Hong Kong, but at a much cheaper price. The next day we went out for a few laps, science and technology parks, business centers, tourist attractions...... The real Shenzhen is presented little by little in my eyes.

After returning to New Zealand, I wrote an article in the column of Sing Tao Daily, "Shenzhen is a city", which aroused the interest of many readers in Shenzhen.

In fact, when I had an in-depth understanding, I found that Shenzhen's development speed is very fast, so fast that it is unbelievable. For example, more than 20 years ago, the East Gate of Shenzhen, although it was cheap and good, the environment was not very good. Just over a year later, I came back to the East Gate and found that the modern shopping mall in front of me was the old store I had seen before, and the speed of change was staggering!

In addition to the increasing convenience of people's daily life, Shenzhen's cityscape has also changed greatly, people pay more attention to the green environment, citizens than before to abide by the rules, pay attention to hygiene, no longer littering. The most obvious change is in the streets, where the noisy car horns are gone, and the neat streets are refreshing.

There are many scenic spots in Shenzhen, like Dameisha and Xiaomeisha, with beautiful scenery. A friend bought a villa by the sea in Shenzhen and invited me to visit their new home, and the beautiful sea view was intoxicating. They also invited me to taste seafood near Yantian Port, where there are many varieties of seafood and taste first-class. There are many shops selling seafood nearby, and people usually pass by without returning empty-handed.

Shenzhen is a high-tech city, I have been to Shenzhen many times to participate in the high-tech fair, and I found that Shenzhen is really amazing. Not only is the city developing rapidly, but Shenzhen has also spared no effort to promote culture. I have also participated in the Shenzhen Cultural Fair twice, and the culture displayed at the meeting was not only traditional culture, but also food, medical care, clothing, jade, jewelry, etc., which made me sigh at the breadth and profundity of Chinese culture and learned a lot of knowledge.

In addition, the oil paintings in Dafen Village are impressive, not only are they beautiful, but they are also cheap, and the jewelry of Shuibei is dazzling and desirable.

Now Shenzhen has spacious roads, convenient transportation, five-star hotels, well-known restaurants abound, drink morning tea in the morning, dress up at noon, sing K at night, Shenzhen is really a paradise for those who know how to enjoy life!

I can't finish writing 10,000 words in Shenzhen, so I hope to have the opportunity to live in Shenzhen for a period of time and experience everything in Shenzhen. (Originally published: Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Affairs 2020-09-09)

O read Sin Kam Yan

Seeing her elegant and warm hall, which is very bookish, and the delicate and warm tones of the women in Hong Kong's small home, it makes people feel relaxed at once, like a pair of old friends who have no barriers getting together, and they are both soft-hearted and can talk about private life issues......

Her ancestral home is Panyu, born in Hong Kong in November 1949, she is the eldest sister in the family, with a sister and three younger brothers; when she was 12 years old, due to the failure of her grandfather's business and the large population of the family, Yanzi came out to work, and her first job was as an operator. At the age of fifteen, he worked in a sweater factory. She has worked many jobs, including fashion designer, beautician mentor, founded two beauty schools, and what she loves the most is her beauty career, which she started out of a sense of responsibility. She has a job, opening a beauty salon is open to a friend, and believes in friends very much, because of the management of friends, later reminded that one of the administrators actually turned the beauty salon into a mahjong parlor at night. In order to improve the quality and service diversity of beauty salons, Sister Jinyan went to Japan and France to study cosmetology, obtained the qualification to teach cosmetology, and provided customers with more service methods and taught students cosmetology. He is also a frequent contributor to local newspapers in Hong Kong.

She was very modest, saying that when she came to New Zealand to study real estate investment, she thought that Hong Kong was a densely populated city, and the problem of pension was more worrying. Because New Zealand and Hong Kong have different pension systems, they are rewarded by converting them into residential homes. It has also cooperated with the Confucius Institute to hold many prize-winning essays to promote the integration of Chinese into mainstream society and promote foreigners to learn Chinese. I sat in her warm hall and saw the computer screen of Sister Yanzi, and I realized that she was busy arranging the list of theatrical performances on February 6 this year, and the meticulous list of program content was meticulous to the time, and it was evident that she did her best; I admired her work spirit, because she had so many physical difficulties, but her heart was tied to serving the Chinese people with her meticulous attitude!Be convinced!

The wide range of services of the Yiyan Club, meticulous to some free experience, the organization of cultural activities and some tourism activities, many of which are Jinyan's sister herself, invite people from all walks of life to attend the meeting, arrange various activities, its workload and work ability is not the ordinary little swallow can reach, extraordinary organizational ability and appeal, which is full of Xian Jinyan's strong love for the people.

In 1997, the Oceania Chinese Writers Association was established in Melbourne, Australia, and is a member of the World Chinese Writers Association on all continents, and in 2008, he took over as the president of the Oceania Chinese Writers Association. Newspapers and periodicals have opened a column for members' works. As the president, on the eve of each conference, she is so busy that she is dizzy, and she has no time to sleep until two o'clock at midnight, and she has to reply to twenty or thirty emails, and sometimes fifty emails to reply, and she has to reply meticulously one by one, such as the third member congress of the Oceania Chinese Writers Association, in addition to the various arrangements of the conference, but also to arrange some travel arrangements and accommodation arrangements for literary friends before or after the conference;

In 2004, he was awarded the New Zealand Justice of the Peace and the Queen's Medal of Service, the Peace Ambassador Award and the Auckland Police Volunteer Award. She has been a long-term volunteer for more than 20 years, and her dedication and contribution to society can be seen. Originally from Hong Kong, she loves Hong Kong, writes for Hong Kong's Overseas Chinese Daily, and goes to the launching ceremony of the "2011 Million Forests for All Tree Planting" in Hong Kong to support the national tree planting movement and promote New Zealand's environmental awareness. She loved the motherland, and when the news of the serious damage caused by the flood came to Wuhan, she traveled to five towns and villages with the group in a small boat, and under her call and organization, the "Three Sisters Group" donated 350,000 yuan worth of food and clothing, not including medicine, and another 50,000 yuan in cash. In the course of the second disaster relief, he handed over 10,000 yuan in cash to several families in the most difficult areas. On the day of the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, compatriots in China and Hong Kong called her to ask about the safety of relatives and friends, and some asked her how to donate. The phone calls and emails continued throughout the day, and she patiently replied to them one by one...... She is a Jinyan who is enthusiastic about helping others and seeking happiness for the community.

Read her works: "Fighting for Beauty", "A Beautiful Family", "Beautiful Fashion", "The World of Beauty", "Random Collection", "A Hundred States of Life"; the worldly state is like her micro-novel "Two Ah Fu", in which there are people in the world who will take revenge; and like the love in the world in "The Little Story of Ji Qi"; the road of life is long, long and short, and Sister Yanzi also has joy, friendship, and success; there is an unsatisfactory marriage; and there is a career of high and low. She is open-minded, optimistic, humorous, and dedicated. She: Always a hard-working little swallow, in order to benefit the people, to contribute to the society, always forget herself, always care about the community, only ask about hard work, not about harvest. She participated in the Chinese Miniature Novel Research and Planning Conference, but she has always been concerned about the Chinese in New Zealand, so that the Chinese can see more miniature Chinese novels in the future, and find writers from different regions and countries to invite manuscripts. Sister Yanzi is a real cultural envoy of China and New Zealand! I can't finish reading Xian Jinyan or telling her story in a series of articles; no matter whether you are rich or poor, high or low, you are a friend, a friend of good character, and a friend of good character. O The Native Accent Doesn't Change: The "Ferryman" of Oceania

5 kilometers from the city of Melbourne, Australia, one of the tallest statues of the Queen of Heaven in the southern hemisphere stands here.

"In the past 12 years, we have been campaigning for the construction of the Tianhou Temple. Today, it has become an important carrier for the promotion of traditional culture among Chinese in Australia. Zeng Yaorong, chairman of the Council of Melbourne's Tianhou Temple, whose ancestral home is Jiujiang in the South China Sea, said.

In Chinese newspapers in Auckland, New Zealand, information about Foshan is not uncommon. Xian Jinyan, president of the New Zealand Nanfanshun Villagers Association, has always insisted on introducing the development trend of the South China Sea on the other side of the ocean, "We are very proud that our hometown has developed so well. ”

In Oceania, there are many "Zeng Yaorong" and "Xian Jinyan": they left their hometown when they were young, crossed the ocean to find a way to live, and became their own "ferrymen"; they have worked hard in other places for decades, but they still do their best to serve the villagers and are willing to be the "ferrymen" of their hometowns.

……

In New Zealand, 70-year-old Xian Jinyan this year (2019) still insists on running for the villagers of Nanfanshun. Born in a family of seafarers, Xian Jinyan's ancestors once owned a large fleet and was known as the "King of Ships".

However, Sin Jinyan fell into the middle of the family soon after she was born. At the age of 11, she had to step into society to earn money to support her family. As a young woman, she worked as a factory foreman in a sweater garment factory, and then studied in the beauty industry in France and Japan, where she opened a school to train beauticians.

In 1991, Sin Jinyan moved to New Zealand from Hong Kong, and later served as the president of the New Zealand Nanfanshun Villagers Association. "More than 10 years ago, when I first came to Foshan, I decided that this was my hometown. ”

Today, the Chinese have become an important minority in Australia and New Zealand. According to the data, there are currently 7 million immigrants in Australia, of which 2.6% are Chinese, and the total number of Chinese in New Zealand has exceeded 200,000, and they play an important role in many industries.

……

Also caring about his hometown and the motherland is Xian Jinyan. During the Yangtze River flood in 1998, Sin Jinyan published a newspaper in New Zealand calling for Chinese donations. At the same time, several Hong Kong friends were mobilized to donate medicines, clothing, food, cash, etc., and went to the disaster area twice.

In recent years, in many events such as the Wenchuan earthquake, domestic snow disasters and floods, and disasters in New Zealand's neighboring countries, Xian Jinyan has been obliged to donate money and materials and mobilize Chinese people to participate.

o Personography during the epidemic ——— Sin Kam Yin, JP

During this period, he has been contributing to various cultural and artistic activities for the society, especially the Chinese community, such as the New Zealand International Children's Arts Festival for many years, and various cultural activities, such as the "New Zealand Chinese Cultural Federation 2019 Christmas and New Year's Day Party" and other large-scale activities. It is well worth learning from our younger generation. In response to the epidemic, Chairman Xian organized the New Zealand Chinese Literature and Art Federation, the New Zealand Nanfanshun Villagers Association, and the New Zealand Overseas Chinese Association to jointly raise funds to purchase 1,000 pieces of protective clothing and 6,500 masks, which were sent to the motherland for delivery to compatriots. Hands-on, contact and trace the delivery route of goods, urgent for the epidemic, no fake hands and people, selfless patriotic feelings. It is reported that after sending the first batch of materials, another charity work is now being prepared, and I have worked tirelessly, running around, inquiring about the market, and helping people in need in order to procure. "Love knows no bounds", thank you to our Chairman Sin JP, for your hard work. ("Portraits of People During the Epidemic ——— Sin Jinyan, JP" Author: Fei Na Original: Art Famous Art)
