#菲律宾总统: Taiwan is a province of China#
After being criticized by the mainland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos appears to have "read a lot."
According to the global network, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos reiterated in an interview on the 23rd that the Philippines will continue to abide by the one-China policy, "this has not changed and will not change."
In addition, Marcos also tried to justify his congratulatory gesture to Lai a few days ago, claiming that his remarks were "just out of politeness" and that the Philippines does not support "Taiwan independence", and that Taiwan has always been a province of China, and "no matter how it is reintegrated, it is an internal affair of China."
Marcos seems to have read the book
Compared with a few days ago, Marcos has noticeably corrected both his wording and attitude, which proves that the mainland's Foreign Ministry's previous statement asking him to "read more books" and understand the ins and outs of the Taiwan issue has played a role.
Originally, the dispute between China and the Philippines was mainly focused on the South China Sea issue, and successive Philippine presidents, even Aquino III, who was known for his "anti-China" reputation, would not point fingers at the Taiwan issue, except for Marcos, who has been an exception since taking office, Marcos and his government officials have repeatedly hyped up the situation in the Taiwan Strait, for example, Philippine Defense Secretary Teodoro last year clamored that he was "ready to respond to emergencies in the Taiwan Strait at any time."
Openly congratulated Lai Qingde's foreign head of state, Marcos is "the only one"
The Philippine blatant provocative words and deeds on the Taiwan issue have also been refuted by the mainland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on many occasions, but what the Philippine side has done has fully proved what it means to "refuse to change its ways." A few days after each time they bowed their heads and admitted their mistakes, some Philippine politicians jumped out like clowns, for example, not long ago, the Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs just stressed that the Philippine side will continue to abide by the one-China policy, and Marcos immediately sang the opposite tune.
It can be seen that although Marcos is the leader of a country, he has not done anything as a head of state in the slightest, but regards the country's credibility and political commitment as nothing, and has deliberately provoked the Taiwan issue on several occasions to undermine regional stability.
Marcos's capricious attitude also shows that there is not a word of truth in his mouth at all, and his reiteration of not supporting "Taiwan independence" and abiding by the one-China principle is only forced by the situation, and when the situation gradually subsides, Marcos will inevitably relapse into his old ways.
Two "puppets" of the United States in the Asia-Pacific region
In the past two years, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has also made a lot of nonsense on China-South Korea relations and the Taiwan issue, but if you compare the remarks of Yoon Suk-yeol and Marcos, it is easy to see that the two have great similarities, and the leaders of the two countries can criticize China in unison, except for the United States, other countries do not have the ability to do so.
The reason why Marcos dared to repeatedly test China's bottom line was, in the final analysis, instructed by the United States, that he was originally a puppet supported by the United States in Philippine political circles, especially after the old Marcos and his wife went into exile in Hawaii, his family assets were repeatedly prosecuted by the US judicial department, and between the poor eggs who were squeezed out of value and the puppets at the mercy of others, Marcos Jr. obviously chose the latter.
Between the poor bastard and the puppet, Marcos chose the latter
This is also why Marcos Jr. has made provocative words and deeds on the South China Sea and Taiwan issues, even if it is neither in the interests of the Filipino people nor the appetite of Philippine interest groups, but as long as the geopolitical demands of the United States are met, Marcos Jr. can sit firmly on the presidency.
Therefore, at least during Marcos's term of office, it will be difficult for Sino-Philippine relations to return to the past, and even if the Philippines does not dare to make wild remarks on the Taiwan issue in the future, it will certainly not miss the opportunity to stir up trouble in the South China Sea.
