On January 16, at the 2024 Changan Automobile Global Partner Conference, Changan Automobile released its new product plan for 2024, including new models of Changan Automobile, Deep Blue Automobile, AVATAR, Changan Qiyuan, Changan Kaicheng and other brands. At the same time, Changan Automobile also expects to achieve a sales target of more than 2.8 million units in 2024, with a market share of more than 9.1%, a purchase volume of 180 billion yuan, and a resolute 5% cost reduction target.

In terms of new product planning, in the first quarter of 2024, the world's first extended-range pickup truck, the Changan Hunter, will be delivered. In the second quarter, the hard-core SUV Navy G318 will be officially launched. In the third quarter, AVATAR's second SUV E15, Deep Blue C857, and Changan Kaicheng G393 will be officially unveiled. In the fourth quarter, Changan Qiyuan CD701, AVATR midsize coupe E16, Changan Qiyuan C798, and Changan Mazda J90A will join the product lineup. It is expected that by 2028, Changan Automobile will launch more than 30 new energy products.

In terms of sales, in 2024, Changan Automobile plans to sell 1.25 million Changan Gravity, 250,000 Changan Qiyuan, 280,000 Deep Blue Automobile, 90,000 AVATAR, and 230,000 Changan Kaicheng, and complete the sales target of 480,000 units in overseas markets, resolutely completing the 5% cost reduction target. At the same time, in 2024, the group will sprint to the annual target of 2.8 million units, of which the sales volume of the independent segment will be 2.204 million units, an increase of 14.6% year-on-year, the sales volume of new energy vehicles will be 750,000 units, an increase of 55.9% year-on-year, and the overseas sales will be 480,000 units, an increase of 33.2% year-on-year.

In 2025, the Group will sprint to the annual target of 3.5 million to 4 million units, an increase of 32%-51% year-on-year, of which the sales volume of the independent segment will be 2.8 million to 3 million units, an increase of 35.7%-45.3% year-on-year, the sales volume of new energy vehicles will be 1.2 million units, an increase of 71.4% year-on-year, and the overseas sales volume will be 700,000 units, an increase of 66.7% year-on-year.

In terms of cooperation, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said that the new joint venture, tentatively named "Newcool", will be mainly engaged in the research and development, design, production, sales and service of automotive intelligent systems and component solutions. In addition, the new company will promote strategic cooperation in seven areas: intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, intelligent vehicle digital platform, intelligent vehicle cloud, AR-HUD and intelligent vehicle lighting.

In the future, the new joint venture between Changan Automobile and Huawei will be a public open platform serving the entire industry. This means that the final strategic cooperation technology achievements of the two sides may be open to the whole industry. At that time, the new joint venture may also change its role as a technology supplier.

At the conference site, Zhu Huarong also made it clear that Huawei promised not to engage in the vehicle business, and Changan Automobile also discussed with Huawei how to further promote the smart car mode and Hi mode in the future. Although the current AVATR brand adopts the Hi mode instead of the smart car mode, Zhu Huarong also mentioned that the reason why AVATR chose the Hi mode is mainly based on the following three reasons:

First, Changan Automobile should have its own brand;

Second, cooperation should be in line with national strategies and industrial policies;

Third, we must be responsible for users and ensure that their interests are fundamentally protected.

In terms of joint venture brands, Changan Automobile and Ford will deploy 3-4 new energy products (including EVs and XEVs) and 3-4 Ford brand ICE models, and will accelerate the development of CX810 project products, aiming to achieve sales of 460,000 units by 2028.

The company and Mazda will deploy 3-4 electrified products in the next five years, and will simultaneously study cooperation opportunities with overseas OEMs, aiming to achieve a scale of 550,000 units by 2028. Changan Automobile and Stellantis will further strengthen their cooperation and expand the possibility of cooperation, including cooperation opportunities in new projects such as electric pickup trucks.

In terms of overseas markets, in 2024, Changan Automobile will introduce more than 7 new energy products in the Southeast Asian market, including AVATR 11, Changan Lumin, and CD701, and build 530+ channel contact points. In the European market, more than 5 new energy products such as AVATR 11, Deep Blue S7 and C327 will be introduced successively, and the company will accelerate its entry into blank markets such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and the export volume is expected to reach more than 500,000 units.

In 2025, the manufacturing base in Rayong Province, Thailand, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units, will be officially put into operation, and the production capacity will be expanded to 200,000 units in the future, and it will be ready for the global right-hand drive market. At present, it is planned to put into production the C857 product project, and a variety of products will be introduced in the future, bringing more than 30 billion yuan of localized procurement opportunities.
