A person, a motorcycle, will appear on time at 8 o'clock in the morning on that section of the road, silently sweep the road, carefully clean the ditches on both sides of the road, this person is Xu Shengquan, for more than 30 years, whether it is windy and rainy or cold and heat, he has always stuck to his post.
In 1987, 18-year-old Xu Shengquan came to the Shanlan Road Class in the Pannan Section of the Shuicheng Highway Administration and worked for 15 years.
In 2002, he worked diligently for another 5 years on the gravel road of the stone bridge road class. In 2007, he went to the Daqiao River Maintenance Station, and in 2015, he went to the Liuguan Maintenance Station, and so far, he has been sticking to the front-line road maintenance post for 36 years.
Although Xu Shengquan, who is tall and dark-skinned, is not highly educated and often taciturn, he is a veritable good worker, and he will always rush to do more work without the slightest complaint.
It was a long way to go from Xu Shengquan's house to Daoban, which was more than 20 kilometers round-trip, but he didn't care about it and devoted himself to road maintenance. In order not to delay his working hours, he bought his own motorcycle, which he says "has more time to spend on the road, more time to work". Every morning at 7 a.m., Xu Shengquan would ride a motorcycle from home on time and arrive at the workplace early to start the day's work.
Don't underestimate Xu Shengquan's motorcycle, it is not only a simple means of transportation, but also a "treasure chest". Three small frames are installed on his motorcycle, in which safety vertebras, hard hats, raincoats, umbrellas, labor tools and other items are readily available. Due to the high frequency of use, he has changed six motorcycles in a few years.
Many times, in order to save time, his lunch consisted of two steamed buns and a bottle of mineral water, and the not sumptuous lunch supported him until it was completely dark before he would call it a day and go home.
After the implementation of the minor repair and maintenance contract responsibility system, Xu Shengquan contracted a total of 5 kilometers of cleaning work from K372 to K377.
He has his own way of doing things, never using herbicides during the clean-up process, but pulling out the weeds by himself. He carefully picks up the stones from the cleared mud, then dumps the mud into a nearby field, collects all the stones in a pocket, and takes them to the garbage station after work, he says that this will not affect the farmers to grow crops.
On a rainy day, the secretary of the Duan branch came back from his inspection on the road and saw Xu Shengquan in a raincoat still walking along the ditch. The secretary hurriedly opened the window and poked his head out, telling him to leave work early, but he persistently checked the ditch and made sure that there were no stones blocking the side ditch and culvert, so he was willing to go home with peace of mind.
For a long time, Xu Shengquan has become a special "landmark" in that section of the road, and has always adhered to that section of the road and "spokes" for that section of the road.
Many times, Xu Shengquan replaced beautiful words with a sincere smile, and interpreted his enthusiasm for work with a dedicated attitude and his own actions.
