On January 9, the principal dancer of the German Hamburg Ballet posted a missing person notice on social media, saying that Zhang Lin, a 21-year-old Chinese female dancer of the troupe, disappeared after finishing rehearsals at 1:30 p.m. on January 5.
On the evening of the 10th, Zhang Lin's teacher, Ms. Chen, received a call from Zhang Lin's mother, saying that Zhang Lin had been found. It is reported that Zhang Lin seems to have been kidnapped and found in a small town near Hamburg, not physically injured, but mentally frightened.
At 6:53 p.m. that night, the Chinese Consulate General in Hamburg issued a notice confirming that Zhang Lin had been found and was in good health. According to the report, the Consulate General attached great importance to the report and activated the emergency mechanism as soon as possible, expressing great concern to the Hamburg police and requesting an all-out investigation.
The Consulate General also maintains close communication with domestic authorities and family members to provide assistance to family members. On the morning of the 10th, the Hamburg police confirmed to the Consulate General that Zhang Lin had been found and was in good health.
Zhang Lin's mother said that she was still ready to go to Germany to visit her daughter and calm her emotions. It can be seen that although Zhang Lin is no longer in danger of life, the mental trauma is not easy to heal. We should be concerned about her subsequent recovery.
The incident sheds light on the reality of security incidents for Chinese citizens overseas. Chinese institutions abroad should continue to be vigilant and strengthen the safety and security of Chinese citizens abroad. At the same time, each of us should also raise our awareness of self-safety precautions, care for each other, and tide over difficulties together.
