In the face of the new energy industry, how to roll up intelligent driving while fighting a price war can be said to be a problem that current car companies have to face. On January 10, as the first global model under the LEAP3.0 platform, the Leapmotor C10, which officially opened pre-sale, is the answer sheet handed over at this stage.

From the price point of view, the pre-sale price of the extended-range model is 151,800 yuan-181,800 yuan, and the pre-sale price of the pure electric version is 155,800 yuan-185,800 yuan, and the difference between the two is only 4,000 yuan.

What's more, in the price range of less than 200,000 yuan, Leap C10 uses Qualcomm 8295 chip, intelligent driving solution with lidar + surround view camera, and a high-end intelligent driving version equipped with Orin X chip, which does give a cost-effective intelligent driving solution.

The new model will be launched in China in the first quarter of this year and in the European market in the third quarter.

It can be said that since the T03 car, cost performance has always been the main signboard of Leap. In the view of Zhu Jiangming, founder, chairman and CEO of Leapmotor, the core of achieving cost performance lies in self-development, for example, the generalization rate of Leapmotor's vehicle architecture has reached 88%, which is the highest in the industry, and can cover A0-C model products.

At this press conference, Leapmotor also released the six core technologies of LEAP3.0 intelligent electric for the first time in the form of "open class", covering six core technology modules of intelligent electric including Clover central integrated electronic and electrical architecture, new energy golden power total (CTC battery + oil-cooled electric drive), intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving available in cities/highways, and global vehicle architecture.

To put it simply, the electrical and electronic architecture is a core structure of an electric vehicle and a basic component of an electric vehicle. Only with it can intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving assistance systems be realized.

Specifically, the new platform is a "central supercomputer" composed of 1 SOC chip (Qualcomm 8295) + 1 MCU chip (NXP S32G). Just like the left and right brains of people, the SOC is responsible for data processing, and the MCU is responsible for logic calculation, integrating the cockpit domain, intelligent driving domain, power domain, and body domain systems.

According to Leaprun, compared with the previous 8155 version, the computing power of the new platform has been increased by 2.5 times. For ordinary consumers, the most direct feeling is that the screen control is smooth, such as voice upgrade and other more intelligent functions, and the follow-up projection headlights can also be controlled through the cockpit. The various modules are more convenient to communicate and can also be customized.

In addition, LeapRun means that the cockpit OTA upgrade can be completed within 8 seconds, of which 7 seconds to detect the environment and 1 second to switch systems.

In terms of intelligent driving, Leapmotor has launched NAC (full-time ACC) navigation-assisted cruise, which recognizes information such as road traffic lights, zebra crossings, lane line curvature and obstacles through a multi-modal perception model in the absence of high-precision maps, and automatically adjusts the vehicle speed, so that the driver does not need to control the pedal throughout the process, but only needs to control the steering wheel, so as to realize the straight-ahead, turning and U-turn of urban roads.

Following the release of the world's first mass-produced battery-pack-free CTC battery-chassis integration technology in April 2022, the current CTC2.0 technology, which adopts battery-pack-free and module-free technology, makes the battery and chassis more integrated, and has also significantly improved its safety and durability.

In terms of sales volume, in the past 2023, the cumulative delivery volume of Leapmotor will reach 144155, a year-on-year increase of 29.7%. In terms of new car planning, in addition to the Leapmotor C10, which will be pre-sold soon, Leapmotor will also launch the Leapmotor C16 in mid-2024.
