A new wave of AI is pregnant with great changes in operating systems. On January 10, Honor released the new Honor MagicOS 8.0 (Chinese: Magic OS 8.0) system, which officially said that the system realized AI-driven intent recognition human-computer interaction for the first time.
Zhao Ming, CEO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd., demonstrated many innovative features of MagicOS 8.0, such as supporting platform-level AI-powered arbitrary door function, which allows users to traverse different applications with one click based on a quick understanding of the user's true intentions, realizing a fast closed-loop multi-task, and bringing a new human-computer interaction experience. Users only need to press and hold the text, pictures, and files on the interface, drag them to the edges of the left and right screens, and trigger any door function, and then quickly transfer to other application services, reducing operation steps and time. It is reported that at present, Honor's "Any Door" supports services such as one-trailer, navigation, search, shopping, password relief, printing, sharing, and global collection.
In terms of privacy and security, based on the evolution of device-side AI technology, Magic OS 8.0 brings a system-level secure space, and the "parallel space" will cover the straight board computer model, and pictures and files can be traversed to the parallel space through any door. In addition, the application lifecycle management system has been further improved, and the anti-harassment radar has been upgraded to accurately block "shake it" ads.
Honor also announced a new magic model, which is Honor's self-developed device-side platform-level AI model, and the Honor Magic6 series, which will be released on the evening of January 11, will be the first to support the magic model, specifically with 7 billion parameters. According to Honor, the current magic model is only supported by Honor phones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The change of interaction drives the change of ecology. In response to the problems of netizens "dare not ask" and "won't ask" in the process of using the cloud-side large model, Magic OS 8.0 fully collaborates with the capabilities of the device-side cloud large model to bring more "intent-direct" "magic" experience: the device-side platform-level AI large model serves as the central control, understands the user's intention, disassembles and orchestrates tasks, efficiently and securely connects the cloud-side large model, distributes, integrates, and schedules atomic services, and completes the closed-loop of complex tasks.
Based on this "new ecology" paradigm, HONOR has released the "100 Models Ecosystem Plan" to work with partners to create a "new ecosystem" of large model services for device-cloud collaboration, and Honor will provide an entrance for the 100 major models, so that the cloud-side general large model and various industry vertical large models can be integrated into the magic OS in a shelf-like way, and a wider range of third-party applications can also easily call the HONOR magic model to improve the application experience.
Zhao Ming demonstrated the innovative experience of working with partners to create a "new ecology" of large-scale model services for device-cloud collaboration: "First go to my wife's company, then go home, and then go to the old place to get together with old friends." In the future, this sentence will be quickly parsed by the end-side large model, and automatically pull up the AutoNavi phrase to generate multi-segment itinerary navigation. The collaborative air travel vertical and horizontal to create an efficient air travel experience shows that users only need to simply explain their booking needs in the future, without repeatedly prompting personal demand information, and the device-side large model can automatically combine personal schedule, distance to destination, personal flight Xi and other information to pull up the cloud large model to efficiently complete ticket booking.

In terms of device interconnection, Honor MagicOS 8.0 also brings a full-stack refactoring, the first-generation MagicRing of trust, which supports up to 8 concurrent services, including network sharing, screen sharing, keyboard and mouse sharing, camera sharing, window sharing, file sharing, call sharing, and notification sharing. The smart watch can support dual standby with one watch, and the home entertainment scene supports three-finger swipe up service flow. HONOR Auto Connectivity can realize smart mobility, and currently supports Changan Automobile, Great Wall Motor, and Guangzhou Automobile Group. HONOR Smart Space supports active recommendation of home control services.
