Saihan Dam is a regional concept located in Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, China. It is the largest forest plantation in China and a national nature reserve. Saihanba National Forest Park is located in the north of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, with a total area of 1.4 million mu. There are scenic spots in the park, such as Kangxi Dianjiangtai, Taifeng Lake, Qixing Lake Wetland Park, Saihan Tower, Shenlong Pond, Mulan Qiu Cultural Park and Ten Mile Gallery. Kangxi Dianjiangtai is an isolated boulder, and legend has it that the Kangxi Emperor visited this platform after his victory in the Battle of Ulan Butong to inspect the victorious Qing soldiers. Taifeng Lake is a lake with a water surface area of 300 acres, and the water surface is as calm as a mirror, which is called Ruyi Lake. Seven Star Lake is a group of seven small lakes, looking from afar, it looks like the Big Dipper in the sky has landed on the earth. Saihan Tower is a 25-metre-tall tower with a view of the rolling hills and the endless forest.
Yudaokou Grassland Forest Scenic Area is located in the Bashang area of Weichang County, with a total area of 1,000 square kilometers and an altitude of 1230~1820 meters. There are 700,000 acres of primeval grassland, 200,000 acres of wetlands, 21 natural freshwater lakes, 47 springs and 13 rivers. There are also rich cultural relics of the Qing Dynasty preserved in the scenic area, such as Kangxi training platform, imperial spring, lying cow plate, heavenly ladder beam, ancient imperial road, etc. Yudaokou Grassland Forest Scenic Area is a sub-district of Chengde Summer Resort, which complements each other with the Summer Resort and has become an important part of the Beijing-Chengde Golden Tourism Line.
Hongsongwa National Nature Reserve is located in the northernmost part of Saihanba, with a total area of 7,970 hectares. The reserve mainly protects the grassland ecosystem and rare wildlife diversity in the Mandian mountain meadow of Saihanba and the wetland landscape habitat of the headwaters of the Luanhe River and the Xiliao River. With its flat, open terrain and lush vegetation, it is an important water conservation area and a habitat for rare birds.
Ulan Butong Nature Reserve is located in the transition zone between the northern part of Yanshan Mountain and the Inner Mongolia Plateau, and the reserve mainly protects diverse ecosystems such as grasslands, woodlands, rivers, lakes and swampy wetlands at the headwaters of the Tuligen River, a first-class tributary of the Luanhe River, and the headwaters of the Ulangong River, a second-level tributary of the Xilamulun River. The reserve has important functions such as biodiversity conservation, water conservation, soil conservation, scientific research, environmental education, and ecotourism.
