During my tour in Semporna, I noticed some regulations and recommendations. For example, the Pearl Island, Mandab Bay and Gunkan Island are prohibited from flying drones to protect these beautiful spots. Also, it is advisable to take a flight to Tawau at 10 am for better scheduling.
For those who love diving, Semporna is definitely a paradise. The water of Gunkanjima is crystal clear and there are many fish, making you feel the wonderful beauty of nature. Mandab Bay is a well-protected snorkeling spot, and the marine ecosystem here is very unique and teeming with a variety of colorful corals and fish.
To be able to see Semporna better, I recommend flying to Tawau instead of taking a car. Because there are no direct flights to Semporna in China, you need to transfer flights. Moreover, Tawau Airport is the closest airport to Semporna, which can save a lot of time.
In addition to the beautiful islands and dive sites, Semporna has plenty of special snacks to keep your mouth struck by. I tried local delicacies such as char kway teow, nasi lemak, and grilled fish, and every bite was memorable.
When it comes to choosing resorts in Semporna, I recommend a few of the more top-ranked resorts. The Pearl Island overlooks the entire environment, but you have to wear sneakers to climb the mountain. The resort also offers a free shuttle to the resort, which is very convenient.
The outlying islands around Semporna are also hotspots for sightseeing and entertainment. Sipadan is a world-famous diving paradise with an abundance of diverse marine life and magnificent coral reefs.
