The righteous heart of a peasant boy
Xu Honggang was born into a small family of farmers in a remote mountainous area of Yunnan Province, and despite the hardships of life, his parents never gave up on their children's education, and they did everything they could to provide Xu Honggang with the opportunity to receive an education.
Every morning, his father would wake Xu Honggang early to get him ready for school, while his mother would wake up earlier to prepare a hearty breakfast for him, and since the school was five kilometers away from home, Xu Honggang had to walk through a rugged mountain road to get there.
When he was eight years old, a sudden disaster shattered the peace of the family, and one night, three fierce bandits broke into their home, and in order to protect the family, his father asked his mother to take Xu Honggang to hide at the bottom of the kang and face the gangsters alone.
Although his father was beaten by the gangsters, he never flinched, fortunately, the villagers arrived in time to drive away the gangsters, this experience left a deep imprint on Xu Honggang's heart, he secretly vowed that when he grew up, he must protect his family and severely punish the wicked.

In the army, he trained diligently, constantly improving his overall quality and combat ability, although he did not enter the front-line ranks, he always firmly believed that as long as he worked hard, gold could shine anywhere, and as long as he was a soldier, he could contribute to the motherland.
In 1993, at the age of 22, Xu Honggang became a member of the Communist Party, however, in his second year as a party member, he encountered a life-and-death test. During one of his missions, he was attacked by a group of gangsters.
The bus was met by robbers
On a sunny afternoon, a passenger car was driving on a winding mountain road, and in the car sat a young man named Xu Honggang, who was just 22 years old this year and was in the moment of his youth, and fate gave him a severe test at this moment.

The passengers panicked and pulled out their wallets in the hope of putting an end to the disaster, but the gangsters were aiming much more than that, and one of them turned to a young mother and her little girl, with an evil glint in their eyes.
Xu Honggang witnessed all this, and he knew that he could not remain silent any longer. He stood up and shouted, "Run!" and the silence was broken like thunder, and the mother immediately picked up the child and ran quickly to the door, followed by the other passengers, fleeing the dangerous place.
Xu Honggang did not leave, he turned to face the four robbers, he knew that if he did not stand up, those innocent passengers would not be spared, and in the cramped carriage, a life-and-death struggle began.
With one enemy and four enemies, we will never back down
Xu Honggang bent down and skillfully avoided the long knife swept by the first gangster, he grabbed the gangster's wrist tightly, twisted it hard, the gangster screamed in pain, the long knife fell to the ground in response, and the other two gangsters saw this and immediately pounced on Xu Honggang from the left and right sides.
Xu Honggang restrained the first gangster with his right hand, and his free left hand blocked the attack of the gangster on the left, he tightly grasped the blade in the opponent's hand, although it was bloody, but he did not relax at all, at this moment, the fourth gangster attacked from behind and cut Xu Honggang's shoulder blade with a knife.
The pain hit like a tear, but Xu Honggang did not fall down because of this, he gritted his teeth and continued to fight with the remaining two gangsters, one of the gangsters broke free from Xu Honggang's restraints, raised the long knife again, and slashed at Xu Honggang's abdomen, Xu Honggang hurriedly retreated, but was still cut by the blade with a deep wound.
The fourth gangster pounced from the front, the dagger pointed directly at Xu Honggang's chest, Xu Honggang used all his strength to block the blow with his arm, the sharp tip of the knife penetrated through the arm and stabbed into his body, but he still grabbed the knife of the other gangster, his eyes were red, and he did not flinch.
In this life-and-death struggle, Xu Honggang suffered more than a dozen stab wounds before and after, but his will never wavered, and he fought hard in the cramped carriage, just to buy more time for those innocent passengers to escape.
In the end, the robbers were shocked by Xu Honggang's courage and fled the scene, although Xu Honggang was seriously injured, he used his actions to protect those helpless passengers, and became a hero in people's hearts.
Grab time with the Grim Reaper, and the hero must be saved
When the robbers broke into the car, Xu Honggang did not flinch, he bravely stood up to protect the passengers, although he was seriously injured, after the police received the report, the police who arrived at the scene found Xu Honggang unconscious, his physical condition was very critical, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital for rescue.
The hospital's rescue team, made up of experienced traumatologists, couldn't help but be shocked when they examined Xu's injuries: more than a dozen deep stab wounds, two broken backs, and blood-soaked clothing.
After four hours of intense surgery, the doctors carefully stitched up his wound and fixed the fracture site, and despite the severity of the injury, Xu Honggang overcame death with tenacious perseverance.
The carjacking incident quickly became the focus of social attention, Xu Honggang's heroic behavior was widely praised by the public, some passengers witnessed the incident, and informed the media of the news, for a time Xu Honggang made headlines in the news, and the people spontaneously went to the hospital to visit the hero and pray for his safety.
After more than two hours of surgery, Xu Honggang finally woke up, and although his body was still weak, his first concern was the safety of the other passengers, especially the mother and son.

Go back to work and continue your education
After returning to the army, Xu Honggang was warmly welcomed by his comrades-in-arms, they praised him as a model for defending the family and the country, and was the pride of the troops.
During the period of recuperation, Xu Honggang realized his lack of theoretical knowledge and decided to further his studies, he offered to retire, and was successfully admitted to a well-known army command college, where he was proud of his hard training and outstanding performance, and won the unanimous praise of teachers and students.

In 1998, when the Yangtze River was flooded, Xu Honggang did not hesitate to lead the troops to the disaster area to rescue.

After the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Xu Honggang stepped forward again and led the rescue team to open up a life-saving channel in the dangerous road section, and his selfless dedication touched every rescuer.
