Preface
In the fifties of the last century, New China had just been founded, and everything was in a state of ruin.
In order to build up national defense forces, Chairman Mao went to the Soviet Union and signed many cooperation agreements, including the "24 Agreement".
The main content of this agreement is to help China strengthen its naval power and produce advanced weapons to counter the Western world.
However, due to various reasons, relations between China and the Soviet Union soon became deadlocked, a large number of military experts were withdrawn from China, and military equipment became scrap metal.
So we made up our minds and began to train professional and technical personnel, and finally completed the research and development work in 1964.
With the delivery of a large number of weapons to the Navy, the Central Committee quickly realized that there was a problem, and there were only a handful of pilots who could drive missile ships.
The Chinese Navy reacted quickly and set up a training course for missile boats to train outstanding personnel for the country.
At that time, they ate the best food and used the most backward weapons.
The following are the precious memoirs of sailors of missile boats of the Chinese Navy.
Recruit Company
In 1980, the Navy began a large-scale recruitment in order to expand the army and defend the motherland.
At that time, many young people chose to join the army, which was very honorable and the only way out for some people.
On this morning, a young boy came to the army, who seemed to have just reached the age of joining the army.
According to the requirements of the troops, he first came to the hospital for a physical examination, and then received a large bag of things.
He carried the package to the door, and opened it to find that inside was the training uniform worn in winter, as well as the unified blue quilt of the troops.
Led by the receptionist, the children followed the troops to the train station to assemble.
At this time, the train to the troops had been waiting here for a long time.
On the platform, in addition to the recruits who are about to start their military life, there are also their families to say goodbye.
Some parents were reluctant to let their children go far away, hiding at the corner of the stairs on the platform and secretly wiping away tears.
On the other side, the squad leader who led the team had a very bad temper, and he scolded and yelled at the recruits, and finally got on the train.
The train started to move faster and faster, and the family members who saw off on the platform became more and more blurred.
The journey was far away, and the recruits chatted in the train in order to pass the time.
They didn't know anything about the life of the army, but there was an indescribable excitement in their hearts, as if the army was a new world.
One of the soldiers took out a bag of food to share, the kind of bread was hard to eat, but it was definitely a delicacy in that era of material scarcity.
We all know that military trains have a very low priority in peacetime, and they must stop at almost every station and give way to every train.
So the train went very slowly, and it was almost dark before it went out for dozens of kilometers.
But even so, there were still soldiers who were reluctant to sleep, and the recruits were curiously lying out of the window, observing the changing scenery on both sides of the road.
I don't know how long it took, the train finally arrived at the terminal station, and it was not yet dawn, and everyone was shivering with cold.
The conductor explained that now he had to go to another place to transfer, and there was still a long way to go from the naval forces.
Under the guidance of the squad leader, the soldier got off the train in a daze, and then came to the canteen for breakfast.
While eating, the liberation truck was already parked outside the door.
The squad leader excitedly told the recruits that when we got to the beach, we would be able to take a boat.
However, the seaside mentioned by the squad leader is actually a military port, and there is no imaginary charming scenery.
When I arrived at the military port, I found that there were obviously more people wearing military uniforms, and the instructors were holding the list in their hands and taking the roll call in the face of the strong wind.
During this period, some recruits were assigned to the sea service, while others were assigned to the shore service.
As the name suggests, the coastal service is mainly responsible for the logistics and technical support of the naval forces, and generally works on land or in ports.
Most of the tasks of the sea crew are carried out on the ships that are sailing, and some soldiers even stay on the ships all year round.
Their main job is to provide improvised weapons and equipment, and those with relevant qualifications can be engaged in technical work such as ship repair.
This type of work usually has a higher threshold, and the corresponding benefits will be better, and it is not so hard.
In addition, there are the dock managers, who specialize in replenishing all kinds of food and fresh water for the naval ships calling at the port.
When the ship goes to sea, they also act as seafarers to assist the captain in his work, and they are basically responsible for the hardest, most tiring and dangerous work at sea.
At night, there was still a part of the soldiers left in the port unclaimed.
A slightly older instructor led the team to a nearby residential area.
At the corner of the alley, a square open door with a dense bed inside.
The rooms are not large, each room can accommodate 12 people, and like the troops, the beds are divided into bunk beds.
Considering the hard journey, the instructor specially borrowed a room next door and prepared steaming boiled noodles for the soldiers.
For us modern people, this kind of noodles is really difficult to swallow without even putting salt.
But for people of that era, such a bowl of noodles was commonplace, and they were eaten with relish.
During the meal, the recruits chatted a few words about homely things, but they were overheard by the shift leader outside the door.
The squad leader didn't say a word, kicked the door open, and loudly scolded the new soldiers.
He told the soldiers to hurry up and sleep, and at six o'clock the next morning, the troops would blow the whistle on time, and there would be no good fruit to eat when they got up late.
So everyone lay down under the quilt one after another, and no longer dared to talk in a whisper, but when they came to a new place, they didn't feel comfortable sleeping.
Early the next morning, the recruits got up on time, and the squad leader asked everyone to put on military uniforms and line up according to the list.
In addition, the superior leaders also put forward a requirement that everyone's quilt be folded into "tofu blocks".
In order to set an example for the new soldiers, the squad leader personally led everyone to visit the veterans' dormitory.
As soon as you enter the door, everything in the room is neatly arranged, the quilt and bed sheets are not a single wrinkle, and the standard tofu blocks.
This sight can dumb the recruits, and everyone suddenly feels a lot of pressure.
Fortunately, the life instructor was more close, and he gave the recruits a week to learn and Xi, and then accepted it, and everyone was relieved.
Cadet Company
When you come to the army, you only need to remember one thing, that is, obey the command of your superiors and do whatever the instructor tells you to do.
After breakfast, the troops gathered at the training ground, and the new soldiers began to practice Xi standing posture.
The movements of the military posture are very simple, but maintaining one position for hours without moving is a nightmare for every recruit.
During that time, no other tasks were assigned, except for standing in a military posture and standing in a military posture, nothing else was done.
Three months passed, and the formation of the recruit company became neat and natural, and one by one they were tanned.
At this time, the superior finally gave instructions to arrange necessary courses such as damage management, fire fighting, and swimming.
Compared with standing in a military posture, the training of these events is more interesting, and the soldiers are highly motivated to train.
Among them, the training of firefighting skills is the most interesting, and the soldiers usually work in groups of three to extinguish fires in various ways.
You must know that the most important thing for marine warships is water, and high-pressure water cannons on board are used to extinguish fires.
However, this kind of equipment is very difficult, and it requires a lot of strength to control the water gun, which is the most challenging team work ability.
Damage management training is even more difficult, and here we must first explain what damage management training is.
The purpose of the Chinese Navy's damage management training, also known as damage control training, is to improve the ship's ability to respond to various war damage situations.
The training is generally to simulate the damage caused by the enemy's attack or accident on the naval warship, and ensure that the ship continues to operate by organizing effective disposal and repair work.
The difficulty of this training lies in the fact that it is too random, and on the battlefield, there are potential dangers everywhere.
Any damage poses a serious threat to the lives of soldiers, which can affect the way the battle is struck.
At that time, the conditions were limited, and the training method was relatively simple, mainly to let the soldiers know about the situation of the ship suffering from water leaks, leaks or other liquid problems.
The soldiers were in a large pool of water, and the hole in the wall began to bubble up, and they had to use their limited resources to find a way to plug it.
Generally, cotton yarn is wrapped in wood and smashed down with a hammer until the hole is completely blocked.
It's easy to say, but if you really put people in that kind of environment, the double pressure of mind and body will make everything difficult.
Just for this work of plugging the hole, at least five or six people take turns to press it, and by the time the eye is blocked, people are already tired and panting.
Life on board
After training in the army for half a year, the recruits can basically pass the assessment of their technical ability and can go on board for practical operation.
In fact, it is not necessarily on the ship, some soldiers will be assigned to the submarine, and some will go to the defense boat.
The defense boat is not the same as we usually understand it, it is small in size and can accommodate not many crew members.
Soldiers need to be put on for a long time, responsible for the transportation of supplies, and the transmission of radar information.
The equipment on board is rudimentary, not even air-conditioned, but the food has been significantly improved.
The daily meals include chicken, duck, fish, vegetables and fruits, and the nutrition is very balanced.
At that time, the daily meal standard per person was 1.98 yuan, which was more than 50 yuan a month.
In China in the 80s, many people had a monthly salary of so much money, which can be said to be quite extravagant.
It's a pity that the weapons on the ship are really backward, most of them are models that the USSR has obsolete, and some of the shells are even rusty.
China's Type 024 missile boat is the most proud speedboat of the Chinese Navy, which can be hit, checked and intercepted, and is multi-functional.
The Type 024 missile boat's small size, high speed, and excellent maneuverability make it suitable for coastal patrols in peacetime.
But it didn't take long for this model of speedboat to be decommissioned and replaced by a more advanced model.
epilogue
Today, the Chinese Navy has made great progress, not only with self-developed warships, but also with three aircraft carriers to defend the motherland.
The road is tortuous, the future is bright, and the spirit of the older generation to endure hardships and struggle is worth learning from Xi future generations.
