Riptide, whose real name is Arnos Quest, first appeared in the 1986 comic book The Incredible X-Men #210.
Torrent is a member of the villain team Marauders, and he and his team of Marauders have a characteristic that they die early in the comics, and the clones that appear later are batch after batch of clones.

Mr. Omen sends Marauders to attack Tommy the mutant, and when Tommy returns to the Morok's station with his injuries, the Marauders follow Tommy to the Morok.
Unaware of Mr. Omen's true orders, Pai Huang tried to stop the marauders when he learned of it, but was severely injured by the saber-toothed tiger.
After the marauders found the Morlocks, they began a bloody slaughter. Marauders killed hundreds of Moroks.
Until the two hero teams of X-Men and X-Factor arrived, they saved dozens of innocent Morlocks.
But the X-Men and X-Factor were also hit hard by the Marauder. Among them, both Nightkin and Colossus are severely injured by Riptide, and Cowlis's anger breaks Riptide's neck, killing Riptide.
However, Mr. Omen preserves the marauders' gene pool, and he uses the marauders' genes to clone a team of marauders. During the Demon Invasion, Mr. Omen and the Goblin Queen formed an alliance to have Polaris, possessed by Malice, lead the Marauders to attack the X-Men.
Eventually, all the Marauders died in the incident, except for Polaris and the Sabertooth Tiger, who were possessed by "malice", and escaped.
A few months later, Mr. Omen clones another team of Marauders, and while the X-Men are investigating Mr. Omen's gene pool, Mr. Omen sends Marauders to attack the X-Men.
The King of the Cards of the X-Men kills Torrent in battle.
Years later, Mr. Omen activates the clones of Riptide and Marauder, ordering them to capture mutant Melodi Jacobs "Tragedy".
Nate Gray "X-Man" appears to kill all the Marauders except Riptide, and implants Rapids with false information in Riptide's brain that the other Marauders have been killed.
In the 1999 manga "Pai King" V3 #9, Pai Huang and Sabertooth Tiger and others break into Mr. Omen's base, and Riptide and Marauders appear to stop them.
The King of Cards has once again killed the Riptide.
After the events of "M-Day", the clones of Riptide retained their abilities, and Mr. Omen sent Marauders who had joined many new members to attack the X-Men.
In the 2013 comic book Revenge of Spider-Man, #16中, Jackal infiltrates Mr. Omen's vault, and Riptide is in the first vault, and after defeating Riptide, Jackal snatches a batch of genetic samples from Mr. Omin's vault.
In the 2014 comic Magneto V3 #5, Magneto kills Riptide and Marauder because of all the evil things the Marauders do to the mutants.

Magneto also gained a batch of inactive Marauder clones, who modified their codes to make the Marauders loyal to him. While Magneto was in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, Marauders attacked S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mothership and freed Magneto.
After Professor X founded Kracoa, the mutant nation, the clones of Riptide and Marauder were enslaved by the Goblin Queen. The Goblin Queen plans to use the Marauders to invade Kracoa.
Zero Butterfly leads the Helllion squad to attack the Goblin Queen's base, killing Riptide in the battle.
Eventually, Riptide was resurrected by Krakoa's five, ending his fate as a clone. The next one is one of the comic book heroes "Black Knight" Dane Whitman or Marvel's Zeus.
