Fast Technology reported on January 7 that according to the "2023 Volvo Cars Hurun Alumni Association List" released by the Hurun Research Institute, there are more than 1,500 entrepreneurs on the list this time.
Among them, 32 alumni of Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University each ranked first on the Hurun Report with a wealth threshold of 5 billion yuan, becoming the "Most Wealthy and Creative Alumni Association".
Peking University alumni ranked third with 22 people on the list, Shanghai Jiaotong University alumni ranked fourth with 21 people on the list, and Wuhan University alumni ranked fifth with 17 people on the list.
There are a total of 58 universities, all of which have at least three alumni on the 2023 Hurun Report, including 45 Chinese universities and 13 overseas universities. Another 16% of the entrepreneurs on the list have gone to college, but they don't know the exact school.
Among them, 58% of the entrepreneurs on the 2023 Hurun Report have full-time undergraduate, graduate, or even doctoral degrees, and 42% are from "social universities". The richest man in the 2023 Hurun Report, Zhong Sui, is from the "Social University".
It is reported that in terms of the industries they are engaged in, the entrepreneurs of the "Social University" are engaged in the real estate industry the most, including Lee Shau-kee of Hong Kong's Henderson Development and Kwong Siu-ching of Sun Hung Kai.
The second is the food industry, including Xu Shihui of Dali Foods and Cai Yanming of Want Want, and the third is the chemical industry, including Xu Wenlong of Chimei and Liao Longxing of Changchun.
Among the entrepreneurs on the list at Tsinghua University, 12% are engaged in the semiconductor industry, followed by the life service industry (9%), and the most successful entrepreneurs include Wang Xing of Meituan and Xu Hang of Mindray.
10% of Zhejiang University's entrepreneurs on the list are engaged in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by e-commerce, fintech and investment (7% each), with the most successful entrepreneurs including Huang Zheng of Pinduoduo, Shi Yuzhu of Giant, and Yi Zheng of Straight Flush.
Among the entrepreneurs on the list of Peking University, 14% are engaged in the field of education, followed by real estate, investment, and network information services (10% each), among which the most successful entrepreneurs include Robin Li of Baidu, Li Ge of WuXi AppTec, and Li Bin of NIO.
Hurun Report, chairman and chief researcher, said he hopes the report will enable Chinese parents, schools and alumni associations to learn more about what the most successful alumni associations are in China and what Chinese entrepreneurs have in common.
He revealed that the list is an attempt to show what entrepreneurs have in common in this area from the universities they attend.
