So, I think Pep Guardiola's performance in 2023 is more convincing and more deserving of being named Coach of the Year.
Pep Guardiola may have been caught by some for his extravagant buying behaviour, but I think buying players is also a reflection of coaching ability. Look at Manchester United's Erik ten Hag and Chelsea's Mauricio Pochettino, both of whom have also invested heavily but have failed to match their commitment. Therefore, spending money is also an extraordinary ability of a giant coach!
Second place: Jose Mourinho
Mu Shuai will always occupy an irreplaceable place in my heart. However, in 2023, I think Pep Guardiola has performed slightly better than Jose Mourinho. Although Jose Mourinho did not win any trophies in 2023, I insist that the 2023 Europa League title belongs to Jose Mourinho and belongs to Roma.
Fans who watched the Europa League final, if it weren't for their prejudice against Jose Mourinho, would have been able to agree with the big mistake made by the referee in that game. There is no shortage of short-lived coaches in the world, such as Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Ten Hag, who may occasionally produce a highlight-reel season and then attract a cult following. However, a coach who can consistently be a strong contender for the championship every year is the one who is really good in my eyes.
