The Dai Pichang Calligraphy and Painting Art Seminar was held in the conference room of the Shandong Provincial Word Society on the morning of January 4, 2024.
Dai Pichang, ancestral home of Laizhou, living in Jinan, studied in the Art Department of Qufu Normal University and the graduate class of Fujian Normal University. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a tutor of the Calligraphy and Painting Creation Seminar of the School of Art of Chinese University, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Brand and Communication of Shandong University, and a visiting scholar of Cheng Dali Studio of the China National Academy of Painting. Outstanding Teacher of Shandong Province, Top Ten Teachers of Shandong Province, Famous Teacher of Shandong Province, Director of Shandong Artists Association, Vice Chairman of Shandong Education Calligraphy Association, Former Dean of Art College of Shandong Institute of Management, Dean of Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute of Shandong University of Management, Vice President of Poetry and Calligraphy Institute of Shandong Poetry Society. The recently held "Music and Truthfulness - Professor Dai Pichang's 50th Anniversary of Teaching and Art" Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition has had a great impact inside and outside the province. This exhibition interprets Dai Pichang's sublimation path from "learning skills" to "learning arts" and then "enlightenment", and his works can be said to have reached the realm of "ink from the heart". For example, the inscription of his landscape painting: "The sea of clouds is boundless, floating outside the mountains." "The clouds are far away, the blue is endless, and the spring falls in the Pinglin Creek." "The rain is sunny and the peaks are blue, and the clouds are low and the pines are low". "The cloud dragon travels in ten thousand ravines, and the rock pine is quite firm." Its chrysanthemum fan inscription: "Independent sparse fence is endlessly interesting". Its title is Lanyun: "The west wind and cold dew are deep in the forest, and no one is fragrant." Inscription: "Honest heart is proud of frost and snow, and every season reports peace". Title: Mei borrowed the poetry of her predecessors and said: "I know that it is not snow, but because there is a dark fragrance." (Wang Anshi ~ Plum Blossom) These inscription poems, whether they are self-written or borrowed, can extend the connotation of the painting. The integration of poetry, calligraphy and painting is a unique artistic tradition in China, and it is a comprehensive embodiment of the humanistic spirit of calligraphy and painting.
