Douban: 8.3 points

Swimming Without Giving Up is an extraordinary true story of tenacity, friendship and the triumph of the human spirit, telling the fascinating life story of world-class athlete Diana Niyad. Thirty years ago, Diana (four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening) gave up long-distance swimming to become a prominent sports journalist. Determined to be the first to complete the ride without shark cages, Diana embarks on an exciting four-year journey with longtime friend and coach Bonnie Stoll (two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster) and a dedicated sailing team.

Produced by Andrew Lazel (p.g.a.) and Teddy Schwarsman (p.g.a.) and written by Julia Cox, "Swim Without Giving Up" is based on Diana Niad's memoir Find a Way.
