At around 3 p.m. on January 4, in a village in Quang Tri province, Vietnam, villagers heard screams coming from Ho Van Ban's home, and the crowd was speechless by what they saw. The chairman of a local People's Committee said that when he arrived, he found Ho Van Ban sleeping with his wife and son under a blanket. However, Ho Van Ban's wife and son are both dead, and both have multiple wounds and blood stains on their bodies.
It is understood that Ho Van Ban's wife is Ho Thi Đ, born in 2000, and his son is Ho Van C, who is currently only one year old. When captured, Ho Van Ban did not resist. Some nearby villagers said that he may have beaten his wife to death with a stick and then slept with the body under a blanket.
It is understood that on January 3, Ho Van Ban also drove his wife and children to his house in a commune to pick cassava. At four o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, he also bought clothes for his wife and children. But soon after, tragedy struck.
At the moment, according to Ho Van Ban's initial testimony, it was he who suddenly became paranoid and thought that his wife would kill him. Therefore, Ho Van Ban invited his wife to commit suicide. However, Ms. D disagreed, and a conflict ensued. Ho Van Ban then beat his wife to death with a wooden stick and a machete, along with his son, Ho Van C, who was less than 1 year old.
