One of the reasons is that before liberation, most of the land was in the hands of the big landlords and the local tyrants and gentry, and at that time many peasants themselves did not have land; in this case, if the peasants wanted to have enough to eat, they could only rent the land of the landlord's house to grow grain crops, and in the year of the harvest they went to rent the landlord's family and left some rations for themselves to be able to eat. In particular, in the year of the catastrophe, the peasants rented the landlord's land not only could not produce so much grain, but even the grain produced was not enough to pay the landlord's family rent; in this case, the peasants not only did not have enough to eat, but in some years they even suffered from serious hunger, and in the year of the catastrophe, there was the possibility of starvation to death. Moreover, in some years, the rent collected by the landlord is still very high, and it can reach 30 percent or even 40 percent of the rent, because the rent is too high, so the peasants can only remove the rent handed over to the landlord's family in the harvest year, and the grain left over by themselves can only be eaten by the family; once they encounter a bad year or a disaster year, and the peasants go to pay rent to the landlord's family, they will not have much grain left, and there will not even be any grain left, how can they have enough to eat?
Moreover, at that time, some poor people could not afford to rent the landlord's land, so they could only work for the landlord's family for a long time and carry a lot of work in order to earn a meager income, but the peasants knew that there was a time limit for the landlord's work, and it was impossible to work every day, and the wages were very low at that time, so even if they carried the work for the landlord's family, it was impossible to earn enough food for the whole family to eat, and it was also difficult to solve the problem of eating for the whole family.
However, modern society is different, our land contract is to allow all peasants to get their own land, so that peasants can grow their own land to make grain production higher and higher, and peasants sell grain to the state, and the state also pays, although in the past peasants need to pay agricultural taxes to the state and need to do voluntary work, but no matter what: after dividing the land and working alone, the peasants really have enough to eat and will not starve.
Especially after 2006, the state does not want agricultural taxes, and does not want to do voluntary work, so that farmers are equal to farming without spending land rent, so the living standards of farmers are getting better and better, especially the state also gives subsidies for farming, and the subsidies are more and more, so that farmers can not only farm to eat enough, but also eat better and better, living standards are getting higher and higher, now we have fully realized agricultural mechanization here, most farmers have lived in brick houses, about half of the farmers have bought buildings in the city, many farmers have bought cars, and there are many agricultural vehicles, so the farmers are really full of food, so that the people of the whole country are full, and the more you eat, the better, the richer you get.
