CCTV News: At the beginning of the new year, a number of railway construction projects across the country have been accelerated, further weaving a dense railway network to serve economic and social development.
Hundreds of builders are working on the structure of the project at the Beijing Sub-Central Station Integrated Transportation Hub in Tongzhou District, Beijing, and it is expected to enter the M&E and interior decoration construction stage by the end of April 2024.
As Asia's largest underground integrated transportation hub, it is a multi-line rail transit network with an urban life circle on the ground and a multi-line rail transit network underground, which will take 15 minutes to reach the Capital Airport, 35 minutes to Daxing International Airport and Tangshan City, Hebei Province, and 1 hour to Tianjin Binhai New Area and Xiong'an New Area.
At the beginning of the new year, the mainland's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network is also accelerating and encrypted construction. The Xiongxin high-speed railway, which connects the Xiong'an New Area in Hebei Province and Xinzhou City in Shanxi Province, is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming corridor of the mainland's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network. At the construction site of the new Gaifang Bridge of the whole line of control projects, there are many drilling rigs, and the construction personnel are carrying out the construction of the bridge substructure.
After the completion of the 342-kilometer-long Xiongxin high-speed railway, it will be connected with the Xiongshang high-speed railway, the Beijing-Xiongxiong intercity railway, and the Daxi high-speed railway, becoming a major channel connecting the northwest, southwest, north and northeast of the mainland, and effectively improving the railway grid bureau in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan high-speed railway, which is under construction, is an important part of the Xiamen-Chongqing corridor in the mainland's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. In the Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan high-speed railway, the Baijiashan Tunnel, the most complex water-rich tunnel on the whole line, has just been completed, and the construction personnel are carrying out follow-up construction such as the inverted arch of the tunnel.
After the completion of the Chongqing-Hunan high-speed railway, the travel time between the Qianjiang River in Chongqing and the main urban area will be shortened from the current 4 hours to less than 1 hour. In addition to the Chongqing-Hunan high-speed railway, at present, there are five high-speed railways under construction in Chongqing, including the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line, Chongqing-Kunming, Xiyu, Chengdawan, and Xinyu-Wan, which are stepping up construction at the same time.
According to data from China Railway Group, from January to November 2023, the national railway completed 640.7 billion yuan in fixed asset investment, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. As of November 30, 2023, the operating mileage of railways in China exceeded 155,500 kilometers, of which 43,700 kilometers were high-speed railways. It is expected that in 2024, the Chihuang Railway, the Shanghai-Suzhou-Lake Railway, the Lanzhang Third and Fourth Lines and other railways will be completed and opened to traffic.
