On the 76th independence day of Myanmar on the 4th, the National Management Council of Myanmar issued an amnesty decree to pardon more than 9,700 prisoners. Earlier in the day, the National Governing Council issued two amnesty decrees, called "Independence Day Celebration, Humanitarian and Inter-State Relations", in which the chairman of the committee pardoned 9,652 Burmese prisoners serving sentences in various prisons across the country and pardoned and deported 114 foreign prisoners in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Penal Code.
