Abstract: On the afternoon of January 2, in the small hall of Kaiyuan Primary School in Changning District, Shanghai, the "First Lesson of the New Year: Stamp Classroom Lectures on Party History" was held. Ren Dahou, the "philatelic grandfather" with a history of 66 years of philately, brought a collection of philatelic exhibitions, with the theme of "From Shikumen to Tiananmen - The Heroic Epic of the Centenary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", telling the centennial history of the party with stamps.
A long row of exhibition plates displays themed stamp albums such as "From Shikumen to Tiananmen - The Heroic Epic of the Centenary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", "History of New China" and "The Great Motherland", showing the glorious course of the Communist Party of China from Shikumen to Tiananmen Square and the great achievements of New China. Ren Dahou, an 80-year-old off-campus tutor with 42 years of party experience and 66 years of philatelic history, led 13 trained docents of Kaiyuan Primary School children to explain the story behind the stamps to the audience.
Teachers from Heping Street Primary School in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, which has formed a "Friendship School" with Kaiyuan Primary School in Changning District, led 16 student representatives and parents to Shanghai to participate in the "First Lesson of the New Year" of Kaiyuan Primary School. While visiting the philatelic exhibition and listening to the vivid explanations of the "philatelic grandfather" and the children's commentators, the teachers, students and parents of Heping Street Primary School sighed: "From standing up, getting rich to becoming strong, it is not easy for New China to go all the way, we can only not forget our original intention and cherish the beautiful life now." At the end of the stamp class, the "Kaiyuan Post Office" with the characteristics of the school's philatelic collection specially issued a commemorative envelope jointly designed and produced by Ren Dahou and the school, which was presented to the teachers, students and staff of the school as well as the parents of teachers and students of Heping Street Primary School as the "first gift of the new year". Everyone's New Year's wishes will be written into the envelope and posted at the post office under the jurisdiction of the school as a beautiful commemoration of this event.
It is understood that this theme philatelic exhibition will also be an important part of the philatelic activities of Kaiyuan Primary School, and will continue to be exhibited to all teachers and students of the school. "Stamps are known as 'mini-encyclopedias', containing profound cultural connotations and rich scientific knowledge.
