History
1874 Four elementary school teacher training centers were established in Kanagawa Prefecture
In 1875, the four elementary school teacher training centers were renamed the First to Fourth Normal Schools
1876 Four normal schools were merged to form Yokohama Normal School
1898 Renamed Kanagawa Prefectural Normal School
1949 Kanagawa Normal School merged with Kanagawa Youth Normal School, Yokohama Economic College, Yokohama Industrial Management College, and Yokohama Industrial College to form Yokohama National University
In 2004, it was reorganized into Yokohama National University, a national university corporation

With the footsteps of the new era of globalization, ushering in a period of rapid growth of BRICs (BRICS) and emerging countries in Southeast Asia, Yokohama National University focuses on Asia, focusing on the connection of humanities and social science knowledge and natural sciences such as political economy and culture in emerging countries and developing countries, and makes full use of the trinity of the faculties of humanities, social sciences and science and engineering to integrate liberal arts research and education, and promote the pace of social innovation through multiple channels.

◆About the entrance examination of the Faculty
Yokonkoku's Faculty is divided into complex YEGP-N1 (Watanabe Entrance Examination), YEGP-N1 (Watanabe Entrance Examination), YEGP-N2 (Watanabe Entrance Examination), and it should be noted here that although it is named N1N2, it means that it has the meaning of having the same Japanese language proficiency level as JLPT, and there is no need to apply for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
