According to Japanese media reports, the Japan Transportation Safety Commission will officially launch an investigation into the collision between two planes at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on the 3rd. On the evening of the 2nd, a JAL Flight 516 passenger plane taking off from Sapporo New Chitose Airport was landing at Haneda Airport when it collided with a Coast Guard aircraft on the runway and caught fire. After the accident, all the people on board the passenger plane were safely evacuated, and five people on board the Japan Coast Guard were killed and one person was seriously injured. The Tokyo Fire Department said the airliner fire was extinguished more than eight hours after the accident.
