The reporter learned from the East Lake Scenic Area Management Committee that as of the past New Year's Day holiday, the East Lake Greenway has received more than 100 million tourists.
With a total length of 101.98 kilometers, the East Lake Greenway connects the five scenic spots of Moshan, Tingtao, Luoyan, Yuguang and Yujia Lake, and is divided into seven theme landscapes, including Huzhong Road, Hushan Road, Moshan Road, Country Road, Tingtao Road, Forest Road and Baima Road.
Since its completion and opening at the end of 2016, the popularity of the East Lake Greenway has continued to increase, and the number of tourists received has reached new highs, with a single-day passenger flow of 300,000 during peak periods and more than 30,000 passengers during peak hours, making it the first choice for tourists to travel and leisure and outdoor activities for citizens.
At present, Wuhan has started the construction of the third phase of the East Lake Greenway, the project starts from the Shuanghu Bridge and ends at the Tree Turntable in Fengguang Village, with a total length of 3.45 kilometers, with the theme of "Scholarly Road", which is expected to be completed and opened to the public this year, and will be closed for the first time in the East Lake Greenway.
