Nishio Ishio, a well-known Japanese novelist and manga script writer, dropped out of school after studying at the Policy Science Department of Ritsumeikan University during college. (So I'm still at ease in college, maybe because I'm too ordinary.)
Whenever Nishio is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind around him is the "Monogatari Series", which has repeatedly broken the sales record of Japan's BD list, and the stage of this series of works is in a Japanese town in the 21st century, telling the protagonist, an ordinary Japanese high school student "Araragi Calendar", to solve the folk strange stories encountered in life.
However, in fact, in essence, the "Monogatari series" is not suitable for TV, because there are too many dialogues, but this is also a feature of Nishio's works... If this type of work is to be TV-oriented, the first problem to be faced is how to do it so that the audience does not lose interest in the work in the long-term conversational plot.
And on this point, it is also a thankless job, after all, no matter how clever your dialogue plot is embedded, in the end, it can remain in the audience's memory of just one or two classic summary lines, or those crazy burning budget fight scenes, but on the contrary, it is not, if the production team can not be cleverly embedded in the dialogue, then this lengthy dialogue, for the whole work, can be described as destructive.
But fortunately, Nishio encounters a new house, which shows the script written by Nishio in a different and even strange form than life, and at the same time that the audience feels unclear, but at the same time, it can make them have the desire to watch it.
The unique style of this new house, combined with the inherent attributes of Nishio,000, is a combination of the two that engraves this wonderful idea in the audience's mind.
In 2009, it even broke the sales record of anime DVDs and BD lists in the new century with "The Story of Kamo", and classic images such as Battlefield Hara, Yakukuji Temple, Hagawa Wing, and Koshinobi began to become widely known.
Although Nishio later had excellent works such as "Knife Tale" that surpassed the "Monogatari series" in a sense, it was never able to give me the kind of surprise I felt when I first came into contact with "Monogatari", perhaps the new house is as important to Nishio as Nishio is to the new house.
So, let's talk about animation here, and then we'll talk about his job, novels and comic scripts.
Nishio's writing speed is very fast, and he is also very diligent, and every time I have the urge to learn more about him, I am always frightened by his long list of works, so that to this day, my understanding of him is only a superficial.
In 2002, Nishio won the 23rd Mephistophele Award for his debut film "Decapitation Cycle - Blue Scholar and Joke Follower", and officially debuted in the same year. He was exactly twenty years old at the time and was known as the "Twenty-Year-Old of Kyoto - Nishio Restoration".
The year 2006 was a special year for Nishio, during which he won the first place in "This Light Novel Is Really Powerful" with the "Joke Series", and the "Monogatari Series" mentioned by Fang Cai, "Monogatari Monogatari", was also officially released in the same year, and in August of the same year, Nishio also began his manga work for the first time, cooperating with manga artist Takakawa Bow to launch the first manga "After School, Seven Time Eyes" scripted by him.
If 2002 is the year when Nishio first emerged, then 2006 is the official opening of Nishio's path as an industry (personal opinion).
In the days that followed, Nishio continued his creative path, successively launching novels such as the World Series and the Legend Series, and working on manga scripts, and his Monogatari series, as he said at the time, was handed over to a new house and continued to work on TV. I have to say that it is indeed a good friend, a lifetime.
But strangely enough, the key that really led me to think about the idea of the Nishio Restoration as a person had nothing to do with the aura just mentioned, but rather a manga adaptation of Nishio's novel, "Girls Are Not Very".
According to myself, it took about a decade to write this book, which Nishio called "a novel of a new realm that returns to the original point", and was the beginning of his experimentation with another style. The story is from the perspective of the first person, telling the story of a primary school girl who behaves strangely and imprisons the protagonist "I" as a college student, this seemingly nonsensical theme satirizes this absurd society from the side, the endless expectations and rules that put pressure on the child, in the end what will make the child become? Nishio uses such a ridiculous and incredible setting to protect the storyteller himself very well, since no one will take it seriously, since you think it is ridiculous, then no one will criticize and attack me.
It is precisely because of this work that I really understand for the first time the "weirdness" that Nishio highlights, nishio's "weirdness" is like the "Monogatari series", it is desire, it is human nature, but cleverly, he uses weirdness to hide his theme, avoiding the disgust of talking about human nature at length, and replacing it with some seemingly painless small talk, seemingly inadvertently showing the reader his world.
In Nishio's work, the power of language is enormous, and at the end of the story "The Girl Is Not Ten", the protagonist "I" tells one story after another to make the girl understand that even people like himself can be redeemed.

(Laugh lightly) Although these are all rambling stories with little in common with each other, there is only one theme condensed in the root part. Even people who have gone astray, even people who have fallen out of society because of mistakes, can be very good—no, maybe not very good, but they can live their lives quite happily and quite interestingly.
Strange people can also get their own happiness, maybe this is nishio's gentleness. (Nishio once said that "Girls Are Not Ten" is adapted from his experience, but the authenticity is a matter of opinion.) ）
A strong personal style, in Nishio's works, highlights not the plot itself, but the distinct characters constructed by many dialogues. Unique language style, but can find the right balance in shaping the character of the character, in the maximum embodiment of their own characteristics, but will not let it affect the character of the pen, perhaps, he is really a genius.
