In 2022, Lijiang's per capita GDP will only be more than 40,000, and last year's fiscal revenue was only 5.3 billion, but the fiscal expenditure was 17.1 billion. Panzhihua, which is close to Lijiang, has no tourism resources, and before the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was a completely non-existent city, with only dozens of mountain hunters. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the steel industry was developed to become an industrialized city, with a population of 1.2 million like Lijiang, and a per capita GDP of more than 100,000 in 2022. This is the urban economic gap for the development of tourism and industry. In areas with large populations, even if they are only cities with a population of a million, they still have to rely on industry to get rich. Only with industry can we have the money to slowly develop high and new technologies and complete industrial upgrading. Tourism itself does not create wealth, and it depends on the money earned by the population of the surrounding industrial cities to support its own consumption.
