Why did the two planes collide on the runway? Chen Jianguo, a veteran captain, said that judging from the audio of the land-air call transmitted on the Internet, the Chong-8 plane entered the runway from the position of Runway C5 of Haneda Airport 34R. For JAL aircraft that are on the ground, this position is exactly where the aircraft is grounded. Judging from the phone call between the controller and the pilot, the Chong-8 plane did not have permission to enter the runway, and it is very likely that it entered the runway by mistake, causing the tragedy of a collision with an Airbus aircraft.

Chen Jianguo further analyzed that the impact caused the front radome of the Airbus 350 aircraft to be completely damaged, the front wheels may be broken, and the belly of the aircraft is rubbed and caught fire. In the video, the nose of the aircraft can be seen starting to burst into flames, and there is an explosion on the left side, which may be caused by foreign objects entering the engine and causing serious damage to the engine. The video also shows passengers evacuating peacefully via an escape slide, apparently with no hand luggage.

Chen Jianguo commented on the accident: "It is very important for pilots to confirm that the runway is clean when they land. It is also crucial for the cabin crew to keep evacuation procedures in mind at all times. For passengers, listen carefully to the safety announcements before take-off, read the safety instructions, remember the nearest two emergency exits before and after, and follow the command of the crew to save their lives. ”

It is also understood that the aircraft database Planespotters.net has listed the Airbus aircraft as a completely scrapped aircraft. This is the first total aircraft crash of the Airbus A350 since it first entered service with Qatar Airways in January 2015.

After the accident, Haneda Airport closed the entire runway of the airport. Due to the incident, a large number of subsequent take-off and landing flights at Haneda Airport were cancelled.
