IT Home noted that Edge was relegated to third place after being overtaken by Safari in May 2023, and now it is back in second place in desktop browsers. In December, its market share rose to a record high of 11.9% from 11.23%. It's worth mentioning that Edge now supports Windows, macOS, and Linux across platforms.

Apple's Safari, the only non-cross-platform desktop browser in the report, saw its market share plummet from 13.3% to 8.96% last month, for unknown reasons, approaching Firefox's 7.62% (up 0.93 percentage points).

Chrome, the desktop browser powerhouse, is still firmly in the Diaoyu Table. Its market share was as high as 65.23%, an increase of 3.17 percentage points from the previous month. The last of the top five spots is occupied by Opera, but its market share has also decreased (-0.74 percentage points) and is now at 3.8%.
