IT Home reported on January 1 that according to the official WeChat message of BMW Group, the new BMW 5 Series long wheelbase version will soon roll off the assembly line at BMW's Shenyang production base, and will start nationwide delivery in early 2024.
The new car, which was previously unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show, features BMW's latest design language and is available in two exterior parts: the Luxury Package and the sporty M Package. In terms of body size, the new generation 5 Series has a body length of 5175/1900/1520mm and a wheelbase of 3105mm.
IT Home has learned from the official that the new BMW 5 Series is equipped with the L2+ intelligent driving assistance system, with a test mileage of more than 130,000 kilometers, more than 100 functional versions updated for the Chinese market, and more than 2,000 localized debugging. BMW's first automatic lane change function with gaze confirmation is optimized according to the physical characteristics and driving Xi habits of Chinese customers, including model training for Chinese customers' faces, face shapes, head shapes, etc.
Inside, the all-new BMW 5 Series features a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen in the centre console, as well as a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and four-zone automatic climate control in the rear. The rear seats also feature a 31-inch floating giant screen with 8K resolution and real-time connectivity.
In terms of power, the all-new BMW 5 Series is expected to be equipped with a 2.0T engine and a 48V mild hybrid system, with a maximum power of 190kW and a maximum torque of 400Nm.
