After watching three episodes, I basically started to watch it twice as fast as halfway through the first episode, and the expectations before watching it were really high. Earlier when iQiyi released the film in September, this kind of theme was eye-catching, zombies, monsters, reasoning, suspense, and the blessings of Huang Xuan, Lu Yang, etc., it is the most anticipated drama on Douban 2024, but after watching it, many people may be a little disappointed. Especially if you have watched a lot of jewels in the past, even if it is a relatively general zombie movie in South Korea in recent years, such as the king, sweet home or something, you will really feel really ugly.
The biggest problem with this show is that the director wants to show all the elements of all the zombie monster movies, but the foundation is unstable and top-heavy, and the consequence is that there seems to be suspense everywhere, but in fact, it is full of nonsense and the pace has become super slow, so there is nothing to see at all. It might be an exaggeration for me to say that I'm almost asleep, but it's true that I languished in my chair and couldn't raise any interest, and I didn't have any waves in my heart to watch the third episode.
There is also a very bad cut of the rhythm, the script itself is very thin and weak, "easy to understand", and all the hard modes (playing scenes, fighting monsters, and crossing the ocean) are all on point (there is a feeling that the funds are not spent in the right place), which is a bit blind to the cast. Is it the screenwriter or the director? I think it's all there, Lu Yang's movies are almost watched, the shots and pictures are okay, the scenes are very good, and the plot has not been very catchy.
