December 30 is both part of the 2023 New Year's Eve file and the first day of the 2024 New Year's Day file. As of press time, the box office on the first day of the New Year's Day stalls has approached 400 million yuan, which exceeds the 336 million yuan on December 31, 2019 (the last working day before New Year's Day), and also exceeds the 247 million yuan on December 30, 2018 (the first day of the New Year's Day stalls). "Twinkle and Twinkle", which was popular in the early pre-sale, won the single-day box office championship almost without any suspense. As of press time, the box office of the film exceeded 210 million yuan, accounting for more than 50% of the single-day box office. Maoyan predicts that the total box office of the film will reach 1.24 billion yuan. As a love and fantasy film, "Twinkle and Twinkle" has repeatedly broken records in the pre-sale stage. As of December 19, the pre-sale box office of the film reached 264 million yuan, setting a record for the pre-sale box office of a New Year's Day film in the past three years, and the pre-screening pre-sale box office exceeded 350 million yuan. However, the reputation of this popular new film is suspected to have collapsed. On December 30, a number of hot searches related to the film appeared on Weibo and other platforms, especially the creative "Snow Field", which was accused of being full of embarrassment due to problems with snowmaking equipment in some theaters.

Maoyan predicts that the total box office of the film will be about 485 million yuan. The participants of "Stealth" include Shanghai Ben Kid Film and Television, Alibaba Pictures, Shangshi Culture, etc., and Maoyan predicts a total box office of 461 million yuan. Although the single-day box office of the comedy "Annual Meeting Can't Stop!", directed and starred by Dapeng, temporarily ranked fourth, Maoyan predicted that the box office of the film is expected to exceed 800 million yuan. Some practitioners even told reporters that they would charter the venue and invite employees to watch the film.
The producers of "The Annual Meeting Can't Stop!" include Jiaying Spring, Maoyan, Taopiaopiao, etc., as well as listed companies China Film, co-producers include Ruyi Film and Television, and co-distributors include Hengdian Film and Television. This year, Feng Xiaogang brought his new work "If You Are Honest Do Not Disturb 3" to fight again for the New Year file (New Year's Day file). The film is also a film that is really mainly "operated" by A-share companies on New Year's Day, and its producers mainly include China Film and Huayi Brothers, two listed companies. But among the new films, the film did not show an advantage at the box office. The cumulative box office of the whole year exceeded 54 billion yuan
The New Year's Day movie-watching boom drove the box office to continue to rise throughout the year. As of 18:00 on December 30, the domestic film box office in 2023 has approached 54.4 billion yuan (including service fees and pre-sales). Counting December 31, the cumulative box office this year is expected to approach 55 billion yuan. This data is a new high at the annual box office since 2019, which is basically the same as 2017 (55.85 billion yuan), and also exceeds the upper limit of the forecast of many institutions and practitioners at the beginning of the year. For example, Cheng Fei, CEO of Tuopu Consulting, previously believed in an interview with a reporter from Securities Times E Company that the market supply is still relatively sufficient this year, and there is no shortage of popular films with word-of-mouth potential, and the market is expected to recover to eighty percent of the level in 2019 in 2023, and the annual box office will hit 50 billion yuan to 55 billion yuan. The highest box office month this year was 10.09 billion yuan in January, and the lowest box office was 1.684 billion yuan in November. With the further recovery of the domestic film market, the box office performance in 2024 may be more worth looking forward to.
