The contradictory fighting nature of "Mao Xuan" (Volume 1).

author:Yang Gu reads the classics

The identity of contradictions and the nature of struggle are interrelated, they are inseparable from each other, and there is no certain order in which they are spoken.

The reason why we are progressing so slowly, in addition to the relatively long article itself, is that I want to explain the philosophical concepts clearly in relatively understandable sentences, which will inevitably cost more words.

For example, I'll give a few examples, not all of which are appropriate, but they make sense, and then I'll give a few philosophical meanings that could have been explained in a few words, that is, explain another philosophical concept in philosophical terms, and I'll usually expand on them in at least one or two large paragraphs.

For example, the materialist dialectics in dialectical materialism illustrates the limitations of metaphysics.

And so on, my idea is to let the comrades who read the article read philosophy with the mood of reading novels.

Today we begin: the combative nature of contradictions.

What is the nature of struggle, and what is the relationship between identity and struggle?

Lenin: The unity of opposites is conditional, temporary, temporary, relative. The struggle of mutually exclusive opposites is absolute, just as development and movement are absolute.

I know all the words on it, what does it mean?

Let me translate for you: everything in the world has opposites, but also unity.

Unity is like flowing water and stones, like clouds and sky, all of which are relative.

Struggle is like fire and water, wind and stone, mutually exclusive, and eternal.

Like development and movement, it is always moving forward, with no beginning and no end.

All things seek unity in opposition, and there is also unity in struggle.

The unity of contradictory opposites, like day and night, ebb and flow, rely on each other, without beginning and end.

The contradictions and unity of the world are like the harmony of the piano, with both harmonious melodies and passionate struggles. Seeking unity in contradictions and harmony in struggle is the common sense of all things and the truth of the world.

I don't understand it, right?,That's what it means.,It's just a paraphrase.,It's not important.,My level is limited.,It's hard for everyone.。

But one thing to note is:

Everything in the world has a beginning and an end.

Everything is changing, like the four seasons and the ebb and flow of the tide.

In the process, opposition and unity coexist, one eliminates the other's strengths, and transforms each other.

Those seemingly permanent processes are actually relatively stable, ready for change.

And that change, that fluidity of jumping from one process to another, is absolute, eternal.

It is like a great river going east, unstoppable and irreversible. In this ever-changing world, we must not only appreciate the beauty of the process, but also bravely face the end and beginning of the process.

Because it is this kind of continuous transformation and change that fills the world with infinite possibilities and makes life bloom with endless brilliance.

Relatively static and significant changes (quantitative vs. qualitative)

Everything in the world is circulating, still or moving, just like life.

Stillness is a temporary stay, a recuperation, and an accumulation of quantity; change is a qualitative leap and a manifestation of vitality.

In this circulation, there are two contradictory elements within everything, which fight against each other and cause the movement of things.

When this movement is at rest, it seems to fall into a deep sleep, with only subtle changes in quantity and no qualitative changes, like the silence of mountains and rivers and the slow flow of water. When this movement reaches a certain critical point, the contradictions intensify, the unity decomposes, and the qualitative change follows, like a sudden wind and a huge wave.

In daily life, we can often observe the traces of this circulation.

Unification, unity, union, reconciliation, balance of power, stalemate, stalemate, stillness, permanence, balance, cohesion, attraction... These are all manifestations of things in a state of quantitative change. And when the decomposition of unity, the disintegration of unity, the imbalance of harmony and other phenomena appear, we know that things have entered the process of qualitative change from quantitative change.

Qualitative change is the result of the intensification of contradictions, and the transformation of things from one state to another. In the process, the old unity is broken and a new one is being formed. Whether it is from stillness to change, or from change to new stillness, it is inseparable from the struggle of contradictions. This struggle is absolute, and it is going on all the time.

All things show the power of life in circulation, and the struggle of contradictions is the source of this power. It drives the transformation of things from one state to another, keeping the world eternally alive.

Therefore, we say that the unity of opposites is conditional, temporary, and relative, while the struggle of opposites to exclude each other is absolute.

There is identity in the middle of two opposite things

Earlier we said of identity: conditional, temporary, one-sided, relative.

That is to say, there are two opposing sides in everything and everything, which are mutually exclusive and interdependent.

We often say that the extremes of things must be reversed, and the extremes of prosperity will decline.

Just like mountains and valleys, night and day, seemingly diametrically opposed, they coexist as one and transform each other under certain conditions. This is the identity of contradictions, which is conditional and relative.

However, the fighting nature of contradictions is unconditional and absolute.

It runs through the whole development of things, and promotes the transformation of things from one stage to another.

No matter when and where, we can feel the existence of this contradictory struggle. It is like a storm, unstoppable, unavoidable. It is this fighting nature that allows all things to grow and move forward continuously.

Imagine what the world would be like without the conflict, and perhaps everything would have come to a standstill, with no change to speak of. And it is this ever-present struggle that allows all things to evolve and the world to continue to develop.

The identity and struggle of contradictions are like the two ends of the scale, one end is static and the other end is turbulent. They are interdependent and mutually restrictive, and constitute the driving force for the development of all things in the world. In this ever-changing world, we need to learn to find balance in contradictions, both to appreciate the beauty of stillness and to face the challenges of struggle bravely.

The combination of conditional relative identity and unconditional absolute struggle constitutes the contradictory movement of all things.

There is struggle in the sameness, universality in the particularity, and commonality in the individuality.

Therefore, when we sigh at the beauty of the world, we should also be aware of the contradictions and struggles hidden in it, and when we face difficulties and challenges, we must firmly believe that the fighting nature of contradictions will push us forward.

Because in this world full of changes, only by constantly fighting can we truly control our own destiny.
