——Gucheng Village, Shenzhou City, Hebei Province, and Gucheng Village, Jizhou District

Xu Shuzhai

Changcheng, an ancient city with a history of thousands of years, Isucheng Village in Shenzhou City and Gucheng Village in Jizhou District (formerly known as Gucheng, later consonant Gucheng). In 1946, it was divided into 2 villages, the south is South Gucheng, and the north is North Gucheng. They all consider themselves to be the ruins of the ancient city of Changcheng County in the Han Dynasty.

Where is the ancient city of Changcheng County? There are clear records in ancient historical sources. In order to find out the historical origins, I consulted a large number of historical materials and tried my best to restore the mystery of the ruins of the ancient city of Changcheng.

Changcheng, also known as Changcheng, existed here as early as the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, and the seventh grandson of the Yellow Emperor, named Changruo, was enfeoffed in Changcheng. During the Warring States period, Changcheng belonged to the State of Zhao. In the sixth year of Emperor Han gao (201 BC), Changcheng County was established as a county under the administration of Xindu County. In the second year of the Jing Dynasty (155 BC), it belonged to the State of Guangchuan. In the third year of the Western Han Dynasty (59 BC), Emperor Xuan made Liu Yuan the Prince of Guangchuan Miao the Marquis of Changcheng Jie, with a fief in Changcheng County, and changed Changcheng County to the Marquis of Changcheng, which belonged to the State of Xindu. In the last year of the Western Han Dynasty, Wang Lang raised an army in Handan and established himself as king. At that time, Liu Zhi, his younger brother Liu Xi and his brother Liu Xin led thousands of clan guests to occupy Changcheng. Wen Liu Xiu was chased by Wang Lang, and he was embarrassed, passing through this place, Liu Zhi and other Kaicheng greeted him. The first year of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 years) was abolished. In the second year of Jianwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty (26 years), Emperor Guangwu made Liu Zhi the Marquis of Changcheng and reset the Marquis of Changcheng. In the fifteenth year of Yongping (72), Liu Shu, the grandson of Marquis Zhi of Changcheng, rebelled against Liu Ying, the king of Chu, and the state was changed to Fucheng County, which belonged to the State of Anping. In 265, when Sima Yantai, emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty, Fucheng County was merged into Xindu County of the Anping State.

"Notes on the Water Classic" Volume 10 Turbid Zhangshui, Qingzhangshui... It also passes northeast through the north of Fuyu County, and northeast through the west of Xindu County, the ancient city of Fucheng County is in the west of Xindu City, hengshui Qixi County has Fuze, and Zezhong Duoji is known as Fujiya. Hengshui is also north of changcheng county to the west of the ancient city, and the geographical history is known as Changcheng County. Marquis of Xiayun, Prince Guangchuan Miao Prince Jie yuan was made the Marquis of Changcheng for three years by Emperor Xuan. Kan Xiao Yue: Chang cost the name Fucheng Yi, Ying Shao Yue: Tangyang County, thirty miles north of Changcheng Ancient County, Shizu Under the Tangyang Chang Adult Liu Zhi led the sons and daughters of the sect to serve the ancestors is also. It is also east of the ancient city of Liang County. The "Record of Geographical Customs" says that fifty miles northwest of Fuyan County is also the ancient county of Western Liangcheng. The world thought that the city of five beams, covered in the shape of a muse. Hengzhang was also northeast of the ancient city of Tao County, and Han Yizu made Liu Xiang a marquis in the twelfth year.

The ancient city of Fuliu County, the Warring States Zhongshan Guoyi, later belonged to Zhao. In present-day Fuliu City, northwest of Jizhou, Hebei. The ancient city of Changcheng County, according to the "Dictionary of Chinese Historical Place Names", gives a general location: the seat of governance is fifty miles northwest of present-day Jizhou, Hebei. In addition, the "Chronicle of Ji county" believes that the ancient city of Han "Changcheng County" was in the village of Nangucheng in present-day Ji County; however, local historians believed that the ruins of Changcheng County should be in gucheng village in present-day Shen County according to the historical records and field investigations. According to the above-mentioned annotation of the "Notes on the Water Classics", Hengshui was first west of the "Ancient City of Fuliu County", and then "north, west of the Ancient City of Changcheng County", so according to the annotation as an orientation check, it is obvious that the theory that Hanchangcheng County is located in the isolated city village of Shenzhou City is relatively correct.

The Minutes of Reading the History of Fang Public Opinion contains: Changcheng City is in the northwest of the prefecture, so Zhao Yi. "History": Zhao Xiaocheng was king for ten years, Yan attacked Changcheng, and pulled it out. "Chronicle of The Land": Northwest of Jizhou, formerly Changcheng County. Yes also. Han Prefecture belongs to the Xindu State. Emperor Xuan made Prince Miao of Guangchuan Marquis Ofe. In the early Han Dynasty, Chang adults took control of the city to welcome Guangwu. At the beginning of Yongping, it was changed to Fucheng County. Jin Province into the Shinto. "Water Commentary": Thirty miles north of Tangyang County, there is Changcheng City. The Chronicle of the Ancient City is fifty miles northwest of Xindu.

From the historical records, it can be seen that the north thirty miles of Tangyang County is gucheng village, Gucheng village is in the north ten miles of Tangyang County, fifty miles northwest of Xindu is also an isolated city village, and Gucheng village is thirty miles west of Jizhou, so the ruins of the ancient city of Changcheng in the Han Dynasty should be in Gucheng Village of Shenzhou City. Which county town is Gucheng Village? I consulted ancient texts and believed that in the fifteenth year of yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Marquis of Changcheng plotted to rebel and was expelled from the country, and the Marquis of Changcheng was changed to Fucheng County. Because it was a rebellion and was expelled from the country, it showed that this place was an ominous place, and later the county seat of Fucheng County should have been moved to Gucheng Village, and Fucheng County of the Jin Dynasty was merged into Xindu County. From 72 to 265 AD, Fucheng County existed for 194 years, so Gucheng Village in Jizhou District was the ancient city of Fucheng County in the Han Dynasty, and Fucheng was gradually harmonized into the ancient city (Gucheng). Fucheng County was originally Changcheng County (Houguo), and later generations called Gucheng Village the ancient city of Changcheng County (Houguo), although incorrect, but also has a source.

The history of governance should be rigorous, and in order to trace the original source, examine false evidence and error, and remove the false and the true. From historical data and ancient books to study, screening, and combined with the trend of mountains and rivers, bold assumptions, careful verification. I believe that the ancient city of Changcheng County in the Han Dynasty is in Gucheng Village, Shenzhou City, Hebei Province, and the ancient city of Fucheng County in the Han Dynasty is in Gucheng Village, Jizhou District, Hebei Province.
