Hey, hello! Today we're going to talk about a topic, maybe a little... Well, the frowning kind. Don't worry, I'll try not to make it too heavy or smelly. So, if you're enjoying breakfast or drinking coffee, why not put a cup down first, because we're going to talk about those unforgettable smells.
First, imagine a scene where you're walking home in the warm sunshine and you're in the right mood. Suddenly, the tip of your nose is hit by a strange smell. Yes, the smell is like a bunch of pixies dancing in your nostrils, and each elf seems to have forgotten to take a shower for weeks. This is what people usually call the smell of corpses.
I know this topic can be a bit exciting, but it's a lot more interesting than you think. In fact, in some cultures, such as the celestial burial rites in Tibetan culture, the smell is even seen as a natural part of the life cycle. Of course, this element is also involved when it comes to scene investigation in detective TV dramas or detective novels.
By the way, a friend once told me about an unspeakable encounter near a residential area. He said it smelled like an angry cheeseburger and decided to join a rock band after a week of it — it was indescribably strong!
On another occasion, at a murder scene (I won't go into the details, don't worry), investigators almost immediately zeroed in to the location of the crime with a pungent, almost physical stench.
But then again, there are other kinds of "fragrances" in life that are also very compelling. Digging out the toilet – oh, pardon me for being blunt – for that was a very different experience. If you compare the two: which is the smell of corpses or the smell of cleaning the toilet that tests the limits of your sense of smell more? I bet most people would choose the former, right?
Between these two smells, there is also a subtle and profound reflection on the relationship between life and death, the everyday and the extraordinary. Whenever we inadvertently intrude into the realm constructed by these strong smells, we feel a sense of shock – as if life itself asks us questions: do we really understand the world around us, and are we willing to accept the truth that it has all its beauty and stench?
Finally, I'd like to ask you, if you're willing to share, if you've ever had a memorable (or should I say "smelly") experience? How did you deal with such a sudden and unprepared situation? Don't be shy, share it in the comments! After all, life is full of colors, including all kinds of "fragrances", and behind each story is hidden a color that life itself cannot replicate but is extremely precious.
Remember, wisdom and humor in our casual conversations can always help us better cope with life's moments, whether they are sweet or bitter, or even "smelly".
