However, with the rapid development of the financial market and the increasingly active domestic consumer economy, the massive and high-frequency data in the mobile Internet era has brought great challenges to the bank data system.
Over the years, the progress of independent innovation of domestic databases has attracted the attention of all parties, because the old foreign manufacturers in this field have long occupied a dominant position. In the past, the domestic financial industry almost exclusively used the centralized database of foreign software giants, and the lifeblood of the financial database has not been in our own hands. The innovation of domestic databases, especially in key core businesses, has become the only way to build a solid national financial security.
At the beginning of the project, the goal of GoldenDB distributed database was to target the most difficult core business areas of finance and bravely enter the "no man's land". In 2014, ZTE cooperated with China CITIC Bank to build scenarios related to financial-grade transactional distributed databases according to the needs of China CITIC Bank. After five years of close cooperation, GoldenDB has put into operation the core business of large-scale joint-stock credit cards and the core accounting business of the head office in 2019 and 2020 respectively. As a result, GoldenDB has become the first domestic database in China to be launched in the credit card accounting core of large banks, and it is also the only domestic distributed database product in the industry that has reached the commercial level of financial accounting core.

You should know that there are usually thousands of sets of information and data processing systems in a bank's system, that is, systems related to "money", such as deposit and loan management, payment and settlement management, etc., which are the top priorities of banking business, and under the premise of ensuring data integrity and security, it is necessary to achieve 99.9999% stability, that is, in 31 million seconds in a year, the database cannot be interrupted for more than 31 seconds, and there is almost "zero tolerance" for system operation accidents.
ZTE helped China CITIC Bank successfully complete the commissioning of the GoldenDB distributed database in the "Lingyun" system of China CITIC Bank, which is facing the most difficult and challenging core business database migration and transformation project in China's financial industry, and with the successful commissioning of the project, it has become another milestone in the financial technology innovation of China CITIC Bank, and at the same time opened up a "new world" of domestic financial-grade transactional distributed databases.

GoldenDB's path to innovation: seven releases in seven years
GoldenDB has adhered to independent innovation since its inception, and the product version of GoldenDB has evolved from v1.0 in 2014 to v7.1 in 2023, realizing the continuous improvement from the core scenario of joint-stock banks to large state-owned banks, and then to the mixed transaction load scenario.
Combined with ZTE's development experience in the telecom field, it took less than a year for GoldenDB to successfully launch its first business (serial number query) in China CITIC Bank. However, these are only the non-core business of the bank, and it is far from the core business scenario of the bank, and at this time, the confusion envelops the entire R&D team.
At this critical moment, the transformation plan of the new core system of China CITIC Bank was put on the agenda, and the cooperation of this project means new challenges and stimulates new directions and motivation for ZTE's GoldenDB R&D team. However, the difficulty of the system has inevitably risen to a higher level, and the scale of R&D personnel has rapidly expanded to nearly 200 people. A year later, the team size increased to 300 people.

During the China International Finance Exhibition held at the end of April 2023, GoldenDB, as the only database enterprise product invited to the conference, Zhao Pei, Executive Deputy General Manager of Jinzhen Information Technology, officially released GoldenDB v7.1 for the core business scenarios of large banks, which has achieved all-round improvements in terms of functions, performance, and security, and effectively helped the distributed transformation of financial core to be more efficient, intelligent, and secure. Zhao Pei said with emotion at the press conference that GoldenDB is "forced" to release an innovative version every year, and the fundamental purpose is to continue to meet the development trend and requirements of the evolution of core business application architecture in key industries, including the financial industry.
In terms of the most critical kernel engine of the database, Zhao Pei said that GoldenDB has been fully self-developed. In terms of the popular HTAP function of the database, GoldenDB has taken the lead in the commercial use of Guotai Junan's next-generation low-latency core transaction system, which solves the challenges of complex query and batch insertion performance. At the same time, GoldenDB provides full-process tool support from business migration assessment, data migration, reflow, application development, and intelligent monitoring and diagnosis, greatly improving migration efficiency and migration success rate.
In the comparative test with domestic and foreign competitors, GoldenDB's performance is also remarkable. Compared with foreign database giants, GoldenDB has effectively utilized the advantages of distributed architecture through the customer's live network measurement, and has reached and surpassed foreign databases in terms of system performance and reliability, among which the bank's core transaction performance has reached one million TPS indicators, the availability index has reached 6 9s, and the RPO in the same city is equal to 0. We can confidently announce that the Chinese database puzzle has been overcome.
GoldenDB's successful experience with customers has been recognized in the industry many times. For example, it has successively won the "Golden Tripod Award" at the China International Finance Exhibition for two consecutive years in cooperation with China CITIC Bank and Bank of Ganzhou, and in the "Second Phase of Excellent Solutions for Financial Information Innovation" released by the Financial Information Innovation Ecological Laboratory in March 2023, the relevant cases submitted by four financial institutions, China Development Bank, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Guotai Junan, have all been shortlisted for excellent solutions.
