Luoyang, Henan: A flood washed out a "Danxia landform"? Cautiously believe that it is only the "prototype of Danxia landform" Lu Hun is the origin of "Winning the Central Plains"

◎ Science and Technology Daily reporter Qiao Di

This year's flood season rainfall is particularly large, the Luhun Reservoir in Song County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, the discharge flow and erosion intensity is also particularly large, and the pebbles and gravel of the Yi River bed, about 500 meters downstream from the reservoir dam, have been washed away, exposing a large area of red sandstone with strange shapes and bumps. In the past few days, it has attracted "tourists weaving".

This unique geological landform, the entire length of about 600 meters, the width of about 100 meters, located in the middle of the river, the bottom of the river is full of irregular grooves and different shapes of stone piers, light red. These red sandstones, softer in stone, with white spots on the surface, are smooth and looming, and look like red waves.

Because of its location on the course of the Yi River, this "stone" has long been buried with pebbles and gravel. This geological wonder discovered recently was called "Danxia Landform" by the local people and some media, but after on-site investigation by the Henan Provincial Geological Survey Team and relevant experts from the Luoyang Municipal Water Conservancy Bureau, they cautiously determined that it was only the "prototype of Danxia Landform".

But even so, Wang Xiheng, deputy chief engineer of the First Geological and Mineral Survey Institute of the Henan Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, said, "It is rare and the first time that such a landform has been shown in Luoyang." ”

Experts pointed out that the Danxia landform is a unique type of landform formed by the continuous erosion and weathering of red sand and boulder under the action of water. In China, the Danxia landform is relatively concentrated in the southeast, southwest and northwest regions. Its most significant feature is the extensive development of "Chibi Danya", with red stone walls, stone peaks, stone pillars and other strange and dangerous landforms.

Although the geological landform of the Yihe River channel is red, it is basically flat, and there are no strange landforms such as stone walls, stone peaks, and stone pillars.

Why does the YiHe River in Luoyang appear in this unique landform? Wang Xiheng explained that this "stone" belongs to the Sanmenxia-Lushan fault zone, a geological relic deposited in the fault basin. During geological evolution, rocks can form a variety of colors.

As for whether this place will develop into a real Danxia landform in the future? Wang Xiheng said that the formation of unique landforms requires tens of millions of years, or even hundreds of millions of years of geological evolution, and there are various complex causes in the evolutionary process. Therefore, it is impossible to predict whether it will develop into a real Danxia landform.

He suggested that the local government protect it as a geological relic and a base for science education, "This kind of rock has no special value, and the masses should pay attention not to destroy it when they come here to watch." ”

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="25" > Luhun is the origin of "Winning the Central Plains"</h1>

In Chinese history, Luhun is an important cultural landmark. We often say that "winning the Central Plains", the place of origin is in Luhun.

In 607 BC, Xiong Lu, the king of Chuzhuang, took the opportunity of cutting down Lu Hun Zhi Rong (present-day northeast of Song County, Henan) to drive the Chu army to the southern outskirts of Luoyang, the capital of Eastern Zhou, to hold a grand military parade.

The soon-reigning King Ding of Zhou was uneasy and sent Wang Sunman, who was good at coping, to comfort him.

When King Zhuang of Chu saw Wang Sunman, he split his head and asked, "How big is Zhou Tianzi's Ding?" How heavy is it? The implication is that he wants to measure up with Zhou Tianzi.

Wang Sunman said euphemistically: "The rise and fall of a country depends on the existence of virtue and righteousness, not in the size and weight of Ding." ”

King Zhuang was therefore embarrassed and retreated.

Luhun Village also has the rammed city wall of the Han and Wei dynasties. At present, Song County has rebuilt the Luhun Ancient City and the Luhun Museum in Luhun Village.

Next to Lu Hun's old city, is the Jiugao Mountain, which is chanted in the Book of Poetry and Xiaoya. This place has beautiful mountains and clear waters, with a long history, and the crane ming Jiugao, Yihe Qiusheng, and Lu Hun Chunxiao all belong to the eight ancient scenery of Song County.
