The content of the tweet is just a social media post that is common for the company's official account to interact with fans, but its accompanying image has become the focus of "controversy".
Obviously, this image was generated using AI. You don't have to look too closely to see that there are many obvious AI-generated traces and errors in the diagram. AI-generated imagery has been a controversial technology, especially for artists and designers in the industry, who have a lot of obvious fallacies in generating images, but the point is that many AIs use unauthorized artists' work to generate them. There have been massive protests against AI on the art site ArtStation.
The use of AI-generated images to promote indie games has naturally sparked criticism from many artists. The ID@Xbox account then quickly deleted the tweet.
People other than artists don't seem to particularly care about these things, though. The news was reported by the media and then spread to other social platforms. On the Reddit forum, some players said they didn't think there was anything wrong with what Xbox was doing, while others pointed out that Microsoft was using technology that it had developed itself — Microsoft has been working with OpenAI, the largest generative AI development company. Some people also say that they often use image generation tools in their work.
