Heat-sensitive moxibustion, also known as heat-sensitive moxibustion, the full name of "new treatment of heat-sensitive moxibustion of acupoints", belongs to a kind of acupuncture, and its founder is Chen Rixin, a national famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor and chief professor of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Moxibustion therapy is an important means of traditional medicine in ancient China, and it is mentioned in Mencius that "those who want to be the king today should seek three years of sickness for seven years." In the classic book of Chinese medicine "Introduction to Medicine", it is said: "If the medicine is not enough, the needle cannot be reached, and moxibustion must be done." The folk also have a saying that "fire has the power to pull out the mountain, and moxibustion has the power to return to death". It can be seen that moxibustion has been a simple and effective medical method for the common people since ancient times.
However, at the end of the last century, moxibustion suffered a cold reception in clinical practice, and there was a phenomenon of heavy acupuncture and light moxibustion, or even abandonment of moxibustion. "But when I see acupuncture disease, I don't smell the fragrance of mugwort", Chen Rixin fell into deep thought when he was young. He has studied Xi for many years and knows that the decline of moxibustion is due to the lack of research on moxibustion, resulting in poor clinical results.
Chen Rixin decided to start with moxibustion and find a way to effectively stimulate the transmission of qi through the meridian and qi to the sick place, so that the ancient moxibustion treatment can open up a new world of human body function regulation.
In clinical practice, Chen Rixin found that the efficacy of acupuncture according to the traditional suspension moxibustion method is not stable, and according to the acupoint extraction method in the book, the effect is sometimes not as good as when moxibustion is in the wrong position. After long-term clinical observation and a large number of rigorous scientific research, Chen Rixin found that when a certain acupuncture point is suspended in clinical practice, there are sometimes bizarre moxibustion treatment heat-sensitive phenomena such as "diathermy, heat expansion, heat transfer, local heatlessness, distant heat, surface heatlessness, deep heat, and non-heat", and the heat sensation can greatly improve the efficacy through the meridian conduction to the disease.

On the basis of large-sample, multi-center, and central randomized controlled clinical trials, Chen Rixin's team summarized the four heat-sensitive laws of "moxibustion materials, moxibustion positions, moxibustion amounts, and moxibustion effect indications", and created the heat-sensitive moxibustion technology of "sensitive positioning, sensitive moxibustion, moxibustion sensitivity, and sufficient sensitivity", which has gradually been widely used in the treatment of spine and joint diseases, allergic diseases, gastrointestinal functional diseases, uterine cold diseases, prostate diseases, etc.
