According to a report by Kyodo News on the 28th, the director of the Asia and Oceania Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hiroyuki Ayuki, summoned the South Korean minister to Japan on the same day on the judgment of the South Korean Supreme Court, saying that he could not accept the verdict and protested.

Disputes between Japan and South Korea over forced labor and other issues have been going on for years, affecting bilateral relations.
