Square Enix recently announced that it will officially end the service of Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile on March 29, 2024, and SE is currently closing all in-app purchases, including the Diamond and Premium Battle Pass.
The game's producer, Takanori Shiina, also made a shutdown announcement on behalf of the team, in which he pointed out that after the game celebrated its first anniversary in 2023, the team has been working hard to improve the game's system and balance issues, and even planned activities for the game's second anniversary.
However, due to the difficulty of maintaining the team structure and the inability to provide more services to the game, the game faced closure. On behalf of the team, Takanori also apologized for not being able to release a new original story within Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile.
The team will later adapt the new story content into an audio series, which will be broadcast weekly on Square Enix's official YouTube channel on January 5, 2024, with a total of 12 episodes.
Square Enix first announced the production of Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile in 2021, one of the projects launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fullmetal Alchemist series, and finally launched in Japan on August 4, 2022, and also held a crossover event in November 22 to bring characters from Atlus' Persona Royal Edition to the game.
